The man has NFL experience. People keep asking, "Can he recruit?" Think about this. He got kids to play at the Air Force Academy where they had to commit to military service after their playing careers. Now THAT takes some recruiting!

And he won with them.

Calhoun is a Great coach. He is huge on discipline and knows multiple offenses, and has had success everywhere he has been. Everyone he has ever worked with has nothing but great things to say about him!:rock: GIVE HIM A CHANCE, BTW he is way more quilfied than lame kifn was:whatever: FIRE MIKE HIRE PHIL AS NEW AD!

In the last hour, you've reported Cut and Calhoun. Do you post anything that ISN't a rumor?

Lets just wait and see. I don't doubt that you'll eventually be right! At this poin, I'd rather keep Kippy and move on...

Most of those guys pry take steroids. I know tons of people over in Iraq and just about all of them do.

He better get rid of the option. Georgia Tech's offense score 7 points against Iowa....

The more I research the more I like this Hire! I think he will end up being a VERY good coach at UT and stay LOYAL, I think Kippy stays at UT and plays a big role in rebuilding!

All you guys need to just chill and realize that this guy IS a good football coach. He's been an NFL assistant on both sides of the ball, and a successful head coach in the MWC. He won't bring the option to Tennessee, he just had to run that to be successful at Air Force considering how little talent he had. Still, he was able to do very well despite the lack of talent.
He'll do well here. I'm not excited, but I'm satisfied.

So when was it that he recruited last?

You don't recruit (for football anyway) at Air Force. You don't recruit in the pros. Wake forest? Yeah, that's a school you recruit top ten talent to...This is BS. He's not a recruiter, and he is currently running the option. I hope we can do better than this. Is this what my once-proud big orange country has sunk to?

Just because someone doesn't post on here constantly doesn't mean that they are full of hot air. I, for one, just didn't reup my Volquest membership. Or maybe these people usually listen first instead of posting 4000 times to say that newbies have no info. JMHO.:salute:

Bama hires Nick Saban, we hire the air force coach. Enough said about the state of UT football. This is a terrible decision. I was firmly in hammy's corner until this lame move...

Troy Calhoun needs to have a 3 part introductory statement. They should go something like this.
1) No Triple option.
2) While wearing a thank you KiffEn shirt, he says thanks for opening a "top 10 job".
3) Hi, I'm Troy Calhoun. I will be your next coach...

STAY WITH KIPPY. or bring back fullmer. we need to end this cycle of coaches screwing their teams right before signing day.

Agreed, but I think that recruits parents will appreciate his time with Air Force. The discipline should be strong. I bet no one on his team will try to rob someone at Pilot.

And he got crappy players who aren't anything close to SEC athletes - or even top tier WAC athletes to come to AFA. Not much of an accomplishment there.
