I just asked Rucker about it. He said that he has been hearing this for days, and would prove it if he could! Seems to think that it is true as far as Jones is concerned.

Coaches who take the term "lock" at face value without a faxed, signed LOI in hand don't stay employed long. Particularily with a guy who had not commited anywhere.

And no one who uses the term "lock" has talked to the player that is "locked" as much as the coach. TT called Gabe Wright 100's of times in the past few years to talk to him. No one with the recruiting services talked to Gabe Wright as much.

If Taylor has a UT player contact Wright, he did it because he felt he needed to do it to be sure.

Does anyone have a subscription to Scout? fostermom is over there trying to defend TT GJ and saying if it is true??? She also says that she talks to TT, so if she is so into defending, why doesn't she ask Mr. TT what actually happened instead of trying to justify. With anyone with a sub over there, would you kindly ask her that question?

Just let him wallow in his self pity. That little "what did I do to deserve this" speech got under my skin a little. Like he was the only one affected by 3 head coaching changes in 3 years....

Still not sure if I believe this because one poster claims it is true. GJ went thru alot while at UT but I highly doubt he would go to bat for Auburn over Tennessee. It might be true, but lets say it is not, if I was GJ then I would at least bash this fanbase.

Where I have a hard time believing GJ made any comments of the sort comes from the glowing comments he's made in public about this staff. He's talked about wishing he had more years with this team and staff because they're going to do some special things. At one time he basically told everyone bashing/questioning Dooley and staff to **** because this staff has things heading in a very promising direction.

Seems odd to me that he would have more loyalty to a coach that coached him for one year (the same time period as this staff) than his alma mater and a staff that he seems to have really bought into as the season went along.

P.S. Hell, Trooper wasn't even loyal to GJ, he bailed after one year in a crying fit because he didn't get the OC position. He easily could've stayed in his capacity as WR coach, and probably received a raise if he entertained those other offers instead of accepting.

no one is telling you to believe anything and this did not originate on VN. Plenty of media in Knoxville saying this story has legs but feel free to wait for the GJ press conf

it's true. he tried to bash us to gabe wright. wright, as you know then signed with auburn. damn him !! (not wright) damn jones !!
