I too was at that 2017 game. It was a fun game to watch when the crowd started getting rowdy and the refs kept making bad calls. It could be. That's why I predicted Tennessee to win a hard fought game with them by only three points. Games against South Carolina in recent years seem to be very close. I attended the 2013, 2015, and 2017 games. All three of those games were nailbiters. South Carolinas run defense usually gives Tennessee problems for some reason.
I just us to execute the way we did. It was all very fluid and it looked the way it was supposed to . Hopefully no one has unrealistic expectations for a repeat performance for what they saw vs Mizzou. We were playing a team that didn’t want to be on that football field last weekend. The pressure is on to show that the Mizzou game wasn't a fluke. Win big again and this program starts to put some fear in opponents again.
No, I just want them to be focused on the game that is this week, not the game next week. Every SEC game is important and to get to 6 wins we need every win we can get.Are you saying the players think they are so good after beating MIZZOU that they can rest on there laurels (the laurels of victory)…. That would be pathetic
That’s exactly what I am saying. You think Saban is going to allow his team to overlook an opponent? Georgia didn’t overlook Vandy. 62-0 doesn’t look like overlooking to me.I don't think your statement is true. If Bama had Vandy this week and GA next week your saying the Bama players would not be looking ahead?
Yeah, this is not TN Tech; I think we will be ready to play. Not to mention, Mizzou was not Bama.Is South Carolina the classic "Trap Game?" Think about it, we are coming off a high scoring win over and SEC opponent while being picked to lose, we are playing our best football in years, players are having fun. I feel like we will know this week if coach Hype knows how to keep his team focused.
I am somewhat optimistic by coach Ekeler's tweet saying practice was "great" but I just hope the players stay focused and are not looking to the next game with the "Lane Train" coming to town.
P.S I love what this coaching staff is doing. They are putting the "Family" atmosphere back in this team and making everyone want to play for each other.
This...really trap game? Depleted roster, 1st year coach, fell from grace...UT has no trap games at this point. You should be on the edge of your seat for every game including vandy smhGiven what this program has been over the last 15 years, a "trap game"? Hard to believe anyone associated with this program could feel like any game is a gimme and take any opponent for granted.
Sunshine Pumpers gonna pump.
My attitude is the same. I think Heupel is a good guy, solid coach, and can develop talent. Good staff manager. Not sure if he can recruit at the level needed to compete for championships in the SEC.
At worst, however, he will be a good stabilizer. At best, he shocks us all and brings in top classes.
Muschamp is gone…It could be. That's why I predicted Tennessee to win a hard fought game with them by only three points. Games against South Carolina in recent years seem to be very close.
