Trap Game

It could be. That's why I predicted Tennessee to win a hard fought game with them by only three points. Games against South Carolina in recent years seem to be very close. I attended the 2013, 2015, and 2017 games. All three of those games were nailbiters. South Carolinas run defense usually gives Tennessee problems for some reason.
I too was at that 2017 game. It was a fun game to watch when the crowd started getting rowdy and the refs kept making bad calls.

The pressure is on to show that the Mizzou game wasn't a fluke. Win big again and this program starts to put some fear in opponents again.
I just us to execute the way we did. It was all very fluid and it looked the way it was supposed to . Hopefully no one has unrealistic expectations for a repeat performance for what they saw vs Mizzou. We were playing a team that didn’t want to be on that football field last weekend.

Are you saying the players think they are so good after beating MIZZOU that they can rest on there laurels (the laurels of victory)…. That would be pathetic
No, I just want them to be focused on the game that is this week, not the game next week. Every SEC game is important and to get to 6 wins we need every win we can get.

I don't think your statement is true. If Bama had Vandy this week and GA next week your saying the Bama players would not be looking ahead?
That’s exactly what I am saying. You think Saban is going to allow his team to overlook an opponent? Georgia didn’t overlook Vandy. 62-0 doesn’t look like overlooking to me.

I'm convinced South Alabama and Vandy are the only potential trap games. Right now the team is powering up the learning curve, having seen last week what they can do, and realizing the potential their coaches have been preaching is real and within reach, not somewhere over the rainbow.

Bama, Georgia, and Ole Miss... ain't nobody gonna take a breather preparing for those.

Sadly, contributing to this team's continued preparation focus is injuries--guys having to step up and realize their own potential in a hurry.

Good teams stay focused on their next opponent, we haven't totally arrived yet there is no time to do nothing but keep grinding and playing hard. We must bring our intensity and focus with us every SEC game. GBO!!!!

Nobody under 25 cares about how Lane Kiffin left Tennessee.

I was well under 25 when I was in Neyland Stadium wearing an "Archie Who?" button. Ole Miss is not a natural rivalry... but they have a knack for coming up with something to motivate the orange crowd.

Is South Carolina the classic "Trap Game?" Think about it, we are coming off a high scoring win over and SEC opponent while being picked to lose, we are playing our best football in years, players are having fun. I feel like we will know this week if coach Hype knows how to keep his team focused.
I am somewhat optimistic by coach Ekeler's tweet saying practice was "great" but I just hope the players stay focused and are not looking to the next game with the "Lane Train" coming to town.

P.S I love what this coaching staff is doing. They are putting the "Family" atmosphere back in this team and making everyone want to play for each other.
Yeah, this is not TN Tech; I think we will be ready to play. Not to mention, Mizzou was not Bama.

Given what this program has been over the last 15 years, a "trap game"? Hard to believe anyone associated with this program could feel like any game is a gimme and take any opponent for granted.

Right. We may be better than USCjr but it’s not like we’re miles better than anyone.

Yeah, we still have a ways to go before there are "trap" games on our schedule.

This...really trap game? Depleted roster, 1st year coach, fell from grace...UT has no trap games at this point. You should be on the edge of your seat for every game including vandy smh

Sunshine Pumpers gonna pump.

My attitude is the same. I think Heupel is a good guy, solid coach, and can develop talent. Good staff manager. Not sure if he can recruit at the level needed to compete for championships in the SEC.

At worst, however, he will be a good stabilizer. At best, he shocks us all and brings in top classes.

I want to see consistency. It's awesome we balled out last game but I want to see it again. One amazing game isn't enough evidence to have me convinced, for me atleast.

I'm 42 and don't give a single solitary **** about the "Lane Train" (which is a dumb name, but I digress). Yeah, he coached here a long time ago......do like Elsa and let it ******* go already. Dude is living rent free in some of y'alls heads.
