Crazy to think he’ll be 25. Does everyone at BYU take their mission trip their first 2 years or can it happen at anytime?

19 is the traditional age so I'd imagine its common enough at BYU although there's no strict guidelines in the LDS faith that says you have to do your mission trip at 19 (or one at all) although it is considered a rite of passage (from Wikipedia so TIFWIW)

The 6-foot-3, 237-pound Pili is the most productive BYU player who entered the transfer portal during the 2023 cycle. Pili has been at BYU for five seasons and played in four of those years. During his four seasons on the field at BYU, Pili has totaled 190 tackles, 11 for loss, and three sacks in his career with the Cougars.

Pili has started in 25 games during his four years...[and] has one year of eligibility remaining in his collegiate career thanks to the free year caused by the 2020 COVID season...During his career at BYU, Pili suffered a season-ending ACL injury that sidelined him after the first three weeks of the season in 2021. When Pili went out, it altered how BYU ran its defense that season.

I have Mormon friends. Most seem to go at 19.
