Trade Wars and Tariffs

This clown show never ceases to amaze.

It's as if the Orange Menace is very much *trying* to **** with our importing businesses and *cause* problems and confusion.

But here's the good news, our checks from Donnie are in the mail!!!

"A dividend of at least $2000 a person (not including high income people!) will be paid to everyone."

Fedex is just an agent that passes the importation fees to the shipping customer. They wont get reimbursed, maybe some process costs.

In other words, they want to steal it

talk about unprecedented.

reminds me of a thought exercise.

If you stole $1 from every American, but also sent out a link/letter/text/email to every American you stole from with directions on how to get their dollar back without costing them any money to do so. How many Americans would actually go thru the process to get that dollar back?

I always thought most Americans never would. I wouldn't.

Here's some food for thought:

If American consumers did in fact absorb 90% plus of the cost of Donald Trump's dumb tariffs, guess what happens next? We get to pay it all over again!

Say what now?

Presuming that all of the lawsuits filed by American importers are ultimately approved through the court system or the federal government relents, the federal government will have to reimburse ALL IMPORTERS for all of those illegal tariffs that it imposed. This could result in a government outlay of somewhere between $150 and $200 billion dollars.

And guess who's gonna pick up that tab?

Taxpayers. You and me.

And guess what... Donald is doing the same s*** all over again this time with section 122 which is equally questionable in legality. So maybe we'll get to pay for it four times.

THANKS DONALD FOR ALL YOUR NEW TAXES, YOU STABLE GENIUS!

One item to point out. The commonly referenced 90% American customer absorption number does include American businesses, importers, and end consumers. While end consumers wont get refunds like importers and potentially businesses, that 90% did not all end up at the end customer.

Your point remains though..

The American economy can do wondrous things with certainty, but certainty will be totally elusive these 4 years

"Is a Rehearing or Readjudication possible???"

I would assume no before the SCOTUS. But I’m not a lawyer.

Rehearing or (re)adjudicating could also apply to other courts and laws than what the SC ruled on.

It seems to me that it’s more like article 3 is overstepping into article 2 than vice versa.

The one he did the other day jumping in the ice bath in his jeans and drinking milk with Kid Rock was disturbing on several levels.

Whoever uses that leg press after it's been saturated in kid-rock-cold-plunge water from those jeans, mixed with whatever poison RFK JR excretes as sweat, is going to end up with monkeypox.

No, SCOTUS isn't appealable. But that's beside my point, someone who is "ready for the ruling" and playing 4D chess doesn't start nonstop whining and asking if it can be repealed (which he should know the answer to)

It depends on who the message is for. His words are to win mid-term votes. The administration has other means to get the tariffs put into place.

🤣

Let’s face it all that money was gone a day after it was collected. We’re running a deficit spending model remember?

Interest earned… hahahahahaha!!!!

“or saved”.

If the funds haven’t been invested in the debt market, they’ve reduced the balance that dot gov is paying interest on. Either way, the USA’s obligation is netted out as a wash with the nominal interest to be paid as outlined in the article.
