Wow, good question. I'd think O line. Just think about it, you are 18 maybe 19. Been dominant at the HS and then you get to college, you are going up against 22 and 23 year olds who have been in a rigid strength and conditioning program for 3 or 4 years and they know ALL the tricks....especially tough is you have no mentors on the O line to learn from before the season starts....

O-line and QB.

QB for game management and O-line for..game management and having to deal with guys most likely stronger and bigger than you.

O-line / D-line. To much of a gap in physicality.(middle lb would be tuff too. With coverage and gap integrity) on the o-line your mistakes are magnified and not easy to hide

Either of the lines. Those positions, much more so than others, require years in the college weight room. I've been lifting weights since I was 12. If you took the 17-18 year old me and made him face off against the 21-22 year old me the results would be hilarious. There is a tremendous amount of strength development that occurs during that age range for 99% of us men out there.

For example, my bench went from around 225ish to 345, squat 350 to 450, and no clue on deadlift as my lower back is trashed but weight wise went from 175-180ish to 200-205. I'm NOT a D1 player so you can imagine how much stronger and bigger these guys get working out in their respective programs.

I hold to the opinion that the toughest position in all of sports - baseball, basketball, hockey, etc. - is a football DB.

If "toughest" means hardest for a freshman to achieve a major college level of proficiency, I would say cornerback. Tough enough job for a senior.

Corner is tough but most of the time you have safety help, especially if you are inexperienced. A lot of times on OL, you have no help. And if you mess up you just got the QB killed.

As big as Zach Stewart looks now, I look forward to seeing him in 2016-17, with a couple years in the Vol weight room and dietary program. Simply a physical difference between an 18 yo vs a 21 yo. That is why I agree with all who said OL.

Oh, and here is your obligatory "Fire Bajakian!"

Oline followed by D tackle. There's a huge difference in an 18 year old new to college football and a 22-23 year old that's been in the program 3-4 years.
