Total War: Warhammer

^4 use wonder weapon.

i really hate that units are tied to the Generals. cant wait to have 20 armies of peasants because the vamps from the other side of the map declared war and sent all their banshees over to assassinate my generals.

i will be really interested to see how/if the Hippogryph knights is actually a thing.

They'll work as an aerial charge unit like the mid-late tier VC units. The name escapes me.

Basically, charge your ground fodder first in sieges, then follow with hyppos right as they hit the wall.

MP is so boring in this game.

I want to see an endgame for chaos/vc that involves 'unlikely allied' crusades to curb the slow faceroll in SP campaigns.

I like the multiplayer campaign. but I have a good friend that I play with so that makes it better.

I know how to use them, I just mean as far as lore goes. like I said this will be the first time they really branch off from the tabletop unit selection.

you mean the VC/chaos work together when you are one of them, or when you are a different faction?

for me I can tell you how 90% of my campaigns went before the wood elves. the VC swallow the empire and Kislev. then get curb stomped by chaos who then is so weak by the time they get to me, and I am strong enough to fight them.

now that the wood elves are here the whole dang map turns green before my first confederation and I spend the next 100 turns daisy cutting.

No, I mean the dwarves, empire, and brets band together.

Sadly, the lore leaves this game imba as the geography leaves little possibility for nonlinear outcomes.

try the conquer everywhere mod. makes it a lot less linear.

Thanks for the tip. You're right. I started a new one after installing the mod and two hours flew right on by.

It makes the Beastman way more fun to play.

there is actually an early release (today) for the Bretonian FreeLC if you sign up for a newsletter or something. if you have played recently it should have popped up on your Total War launcher

Tried them out last night. Got 90 turns in. They play differently than other factions. I have confederated with all but one of the bRetonian factions and haven't fought any of them. Once you secure your border you have to go looking for fights. Your econ sucks. Most of my turns was spent doing nothing as I had zero money. Trade is big.

Knights are obviously your best troops and early on your inf are worthless. Mine lost to goblins. You get some decent INF later but nothing to write home about. I have found 3 non lore units so far. Foot squires, royal Pegasus knights and hypogryph knights.

Found a bug playing as Carsconne, main settlement building wouldn't upgrade if I had any mods on. Just that one, my other settlements could.

A lot of buildings were tied together for econ. You need more support buildings for Int than cav.

Don't ever leave your generals sitting around they gain negative traits fast. Like I said be on the look for other wars to get involved in even if it doesn't benefit you. Your armies need to be busy.

Also the game has played a lot slower than usual. No super power yet. Big guys are still around and generally allied as they should be.

I will probably hop on this after the MCAT in a few months. Is the economy as bad as the green skins?

economy isn't bad, you just have to work on it a lot more and think through it more.

also they detached Vlad von Carnstein from the VC and made him and Isabella (his wife and new character) their own faction taking the place of Schwartseakdsjfkadjfk (whatever that faction was). exact same units as VC.

I dont think I mentioned this but they have a lot more events happen that can really derail you. usually they give you a choice of poisons but I have hit some major negatives. -80% trade, +30% upkeep, -25% building income etc etc. the flip side is there are the same ones in positive but I have been hit by a couple at once that has ground me to a halt real fast.

Any of you read any of the Horus Heresy novels? I know they're 40k novels, but they're great. Gotrek and Felix is a great Warhammer Fantasy series, I've heard.

i have. 40k books in general are better than their fantasy equivalents, I love the books on the Guard regiments, Gaunts Ghosts. Heresy books have kinda wandered on me. they are trying to cover too much stuff before progressing the story line. but its been a couple months since i read one so they could have. Gotrek and Felix is by far the best warhammer fantasy series I have read.
