Total War: Warhammer

game was a bit glitchy for me after updates. turned off all my mods before.

Alith Anar has an interesting start in Naggaroth, very different play style. he has access to the same campaign movement options as the skaven. so his version of underground and his basic movement is stalk which grants a chance for auto ambush.

disappointed with Norsca, there doesn't seem to be any other changes than tech to them. no real landmark buildings in Norsca.

i fiddled around with norsca last night, i felt the same, but still pumped they are finally in mortal empires.

Also did an ungrim ironfist campaign and damn it is a difficult starting point on VH. in between 2 greenskin factions and having all the vampires (corruption) directly west is ROUGH. had to restart my campaign 3 times and eventually gave up.

I am really glad they have finally allowed you to adjust campaign difficulty vs battle difficulty. I might turn my campaign difficulty to normal, and leave battles at very hard. the -4 public order just kills me. I am pretty sure that is the only difference.

i have lost my touch or something.

karak kadrin campaign was rolling along good, poor but good. finally got armies of longbeards and was moving south after consolidating the north. and start facing nothing but 2 armies of black orks, arachnid spiders, and doom divers, for 6 turns straight before I called it quits, saw the next batch coming too. I was winning but death by attrition. they had two more provinces than I did but were 10 faction strength below me. no idea how they got these armies.

tried a heleborn campaign. lost executioners first battle, to range. lost sisters of slaughter second battle to range. restarted same but 2 battles later. tried playing on with their losses but they just out range me every turn. gave up.

alith anar, was doing pretty good. but all the wild oats morathi been sowing for 2000 years came back to haunt me. with only here starting 4 regions was able to produce 6 armies. also had helebron send her death night army or whatever after me, even though we hadn't seen each other until that army showed up, no where near helebron.

allarielle. took me three tries to win that first battle vs DE. first time i built some army and attacked army with garrison reinforcements. I had about 100 more men than they did. not nearly enough. tree kin and dryads lost to one bleaksword unit, reaper bolt thrower was doing 2000 damage a volley to spear line, ellyrian reavers were routed by half strength darkshard unit they charged in the rear. 3 of my spear units couldn't hold against one of theirs, not just couldn't win, couldn't hold, ended with something like my spears killed 50 theirs killed 200. allarielle and handmaiden lost against DE general.

so changed things up and started going after army away from garrison. finally won, had to restart twice to finally win. but still lost handmaiden even though she had 500 health left and was still on table at end of a win. that was turn 1, turn 2 took first settlement, turn 5 DE have full army at next town in my province. penalties to allarielle for DE in inner provinces hurt me bad. DE army full of corsairs, witch elves, reaper bolt throwers, cold ones, while I barely have 12 units of mostly spears and archers plus starting units.

been a rough go of things

I just wish the higher difficulties didn't entail such inherent imbalances like public order, attrition steroids, and horribly lopsided battle stats. I want the AI to be smart, not OP.

Read a little bit about three kingdoms. Sounds like it is getting pushed back to next spring, doesn't surprise me. There is a new Cao Cao (sp?) trailer out, doesn't really show anything game play related but its something. and rumors are that there will be two game modes, one that is more realistic, and the other will have the fantasy level characters that can fight whole regiments.

Cao Cao is right. And the having two modes makes me happy. I will prefer the more realistic mode.

I agree on the realistic. it will depend on what other changes there are between the two, and if realistic continues the slump the historical games have been in.

Just noticed last night that neither Lizards or Skaven got regiments of renown. kinda disappointed because I just started a new lizard campaign.

Dynasty Warriors meets TW?

Lol. I hope they bring that soundtrack.

I just read up a little bit on the two modes from what was seen. Both modes sound like they can be pretty fun.

I was just about to post this video. Looks really good. Really saddened it has been delayed to next year, though.

I wonder about unit diversity. TW has always struggled with it and had the lore provided by GW with Warhammer.

The orks have been massively reworked with how the computer works them. Much more aggressive and spewing out armies like crazy. Also tend to go artillery heavy, like 10 doom divers in an army heavy. If I wasn't the dwarfs I could take advantage with some cav, but no luck. Been winning battles but its Pyrrhic every time.

another update out. Khrabdysis out for Dark Elves. some other hot fixes, but it doesn't sound like some of the major items got fixed.

They finally fixed Helebron. She was ridiculous on that altar.

Also, the new SFO update came out and Chaos is awesome again. Long gone are the days of Archie the Neverchosen.

He can peak at 1100 weapon strength when his procs go off.
