Total Corruption!

I saw many times that after Hooker was tackled on a run the Purdue players would lay on Hooker so he couldn't get up for a hurry up play, and then they would flop on how many plays? I think they watched the Ole Miss Tn game film a lot.

I could completely understand being outplayed by Purdue resulting in them winning a fair game but this is one loss that I can’t accept.

You can’t sit there and tell me the officials had no impact on the game!

1. Wtf was there no PI call on the Purdue defender? No wonder Tillman had no chance to catch up to the ball for a TD.

View attachment 425131

2. Easily decided the game right there. I’ve NEVER seen a horrendous call like this one. The sideline judge didn’t blow the whistle until AFTER the ball crossed the goal line. Where was the play stopped??

View attachment 425132

3. How come the Purdue TE wasn’t stopped whenever he was fighting off the UT defenders? Shouldn’t the play have been over with? Instead, the officials allow him to keep on moving. How’s it any different than Wright fighting for a TD?

Conclusion, I can accept a loss whenever we deserve one but this game was a total screw job. It was corrupt from the beginning.

I don’t want to hear about “Well we had plenty of chances to win” BS! Had that been a TD, game is over. End of story.

The NCAA should be ashamed of themselves and whoever is defending the outcome of this game, should be ashamed of themselves too.

Somebody should stand up to this corrupt garbage that college football is turning into!

Way to go. Think you might get outcome changed...

So many actually believe that the refs are out to get us. Jesus we really are in the top ten dumbest fanbases.

Maybe, Maybe not. Some specific crews may have a dislike for us whatever the reason. The fact remains that refs possibly and likely IMO cost us a minimum of two games.
(Ole Miss & Purdue). Historically I’m not one too blame the refs for every UT loss or call against them.

So you are saying personal biases and feelings do not impact how officials see "gray"? I'm not sure that a crew like this would care that much about UT... but I'm pretty sure there are a lot of officials from other conferences who don't care for the SEC generally.

We aren't talking about conspiracies contrived in back room meetings. We are talking about natural human impulses that sometimes they aren't even aware of.

This particular crew has apparently been in trouble for bad calls previously. If it wasn't just a case of incompetence then they need to be investigated for sports gambling. The hold on Tillman wasn't a one time thing. Apparently Purdue coached their guys to do it. Compare that to the multiple PI calls against UT in favor of Purdue that at times kept drives alive for them. Some of those calls were legit. Others were hand fighting that is allowed almost all the time.

Fudge you, Jabar Gaffney, wherever you are!

I was there lower level at about the goal line 15 rows up. Only gator game i ever saw with my Dad .

1 of only 3 times i ever saw a tear come from his eyes. A man twice as brave as i will ever be that managed to die with dignity though an extremely aggressive cancer ate him alive in only 9 weeks.

I will never forgive that crooked Vandy grad Ref. Nor the crooked bastard that robbed us this time. Dishonorable actions are chosen. Neither man chose to do the right thing and both were obvious and had the benefit of camera review to give them the opportunity to recant their lies and salvage dignity. Again they chose dishonor.

@VolFreakJosh

Everyone is upset about the officiating to some extent but at some point you gotta move on friend.

Here, this worked for me.

Are you rationalizing the lack of defensive PI's and holding on Purdue and some pretty ridiculous PI calls at critical times on UT also?

Plenty of chances? There always are. Hooker missed some throws early but how many of those were because of defensive holding? The DL just couldn't get to their QB but there were multiple missed holding calls there too far worse than the one called on Spraggins.

I don't know what it was. Maybe there's some deep bias in members of that ACC crew against the SEC. Maybe they're Clemson fans that want to take out their frustration on any SEC team available? Maybe they are simply so incompetent that they need to be fired?

UT has been on the wrong end of bad officiating over this season but none worse than this one. UT didn't have turnovers. Purdue did. UT ran the ball for over 200 yards. UT had more yardage. UT had a better completion %. They had almost 2 yds more per carry. They even had the ball for 29:53.

The ONE STAT that sticks out and says "you lose" is penalties. UT was flagged 14 times for 128 yds while Purdue had 5 penalties for 61 yds. The officials nitpicked UT and turned a blind eye to multiple infractions by Purdue. I don't know why. I really don't. But not knowing the cause doesn't change what we can clearly see.

I am not saying that the bad call at the goal line cost use the game but it dang sure away any chance we had to win it. IF it was called correctly and a touchdown then Purdue would have had to score a touchdown. We held them to a field goal so there is that but who knows what they would have done on 4th down knowing they had to score a touchdown and not a field goal.
Agree that it was a horrible call at the goal line. But to be fair after it was obvious that all they needed was a field goal, Purdue was very conservative. Ran two plays straight into the line just for position on the FG. If we had gotten the TD, they would have been more aggressive. I can’t say for certain we would have stopped them because we hadn’t done much on D all day. Our pass defense was an absolute sieve.

There, but for the grace of God, go us.

Actually, it does. UT missed a lot of chances to decide their own fate in that game. That’s a really big baby you’re throwing out with the bath water in that regard.

You have tunnel vision because you’re butthurt.

I get it, brother, I do. I wish the refs were better. I wish UT would have won.

They didn’t.

It happens.

Get over it.

That we didn’t get our way does not mean the whole system is rigged. It never does.

If you realize the baby will grow up to be Hitler? maybe throwing that baby out is a good thing.

Ahhh, 20/20 hindsight, hyperbole, and a Hitler mention all in the same post.

What a product of sound reasoning!

I think it is a case of an ACC official screwing the SEC. ESPECIALLY, when the replay official did not correct an incorrect call on the field.

i think the pitt game had an ACC crew too. that game had some crappy calls too. and it felt like the longest UT game ive ever watched (not counting the 4 ot game against UK)
