Doesn’t matter “What we could have done”.
You and others need to stop throwing that weak argument around.
We had the game won and the refs took the TD away from us that Wright worked hard for.
I saw it, the rest of the world saw it, nothing else needs to be said.
Sorry but we get to decide if and when to let it go. Heck, many of us are still incensed about the Florida “catch” for a touchdown from 20 years ago. Tennessee Fans have looooooong memories.Merge with the countless other threads. The game has been over for 2 days. Let it go. Terrible call, but we should have managed the clock better and kicked a field goal in the closing seconds of the 4th.
I’m looking forward to next season.
Thank you, Dalai LamaActually, it does. UT missed a lot of chances to decide their own fate in that game. That’s a really big baby you’re throwing out with the bath water in that regard.
You have tunnel vision because you’re butthurt.
I get it, brother, I do. I wish the refs were better. I wish UT would have won.
They didn’t.
It happens.
Get over it.
That we didn’t get our way does not mean the whole system is rigged. It never does.
I could completely understand being outplayed by Purdue resulting in them winning a fair game but this is one loss that I can’t accept.
You can’t sit there and tell me the officials had no impact on the game!
1. Wtf was there no PI call on the Purdue defender? No wonder Tillman had no chance to catch up to the ball for a TD.

2. Easily decided the game right there. I’ve NEVER seen a horrendous call like this one. The sideline judge didn’t blow the whistle until AFTER the ball crossed the goal line. Where was the play stopped??

3. How come the Purdue TE wasn’t stopped whenever he was fighting off the UT defenders? Shouldn’t the play have been over with? Instead, the officials allow him to keep on moving. How’s it any different than Wright fighting for a TD?
Conclusion, I can accept a loss whenever we deserve one but this game was a total screw job. It was corrupt from the beginning.
I don’t want to hear about “Well we had plenty of chances to win” BS! Had that been a TD, game is over. End of story.
The NCAA should be ashamed of themselves and whoever is defending the outcome of this game, should be ashamed of themselves too.
Somebody should stand up to this corrupt garbage that college football is turning into!

That wasn’t the “game won”. They still would have gotten the ball, and our defense wasn’t a sure thing at any point in the ballgame.Doesn’t matter “What we could have done”.

Purdue was playing for a FG. The 2nd and 3rd down runs were to put the ball in the middle of the field after the 7 yd completion on first down (which was on the right hash mark).I am not saying that the bad call at the goal line cost use the game but it dang sure away any chance we had to win it. IF it was called correctly and a touchdown then Purdue would have had to score a touchdown. We held them to a field goal so there is that but who knows what they would have done on 4th down knowing they had to score a touchdown and not a field goal.
I’m going with incompetent…. I’ve seen the Miami vs Duke fiasco from several years back and those guys are pathetic. Every one of them including the replay official should have been fired before they left the stadium that night.Yes, the entire sport of football is conspiring and it was unveiled in the highly meaningful Music City Bowl when the referee biased chose the mighty Purdue Boilermakers.
Or, they are incompetent.
Make your choice.
I will never be convinced that refs don't bet on games that they call.I could completely understand being outplayed by Purdue resulting in them winning a fair game but this is one loss that I can’t accept.

Both sports have become much faster and physical. The old farts they have as officials just can not keep up with the speed o the game. In addition, the rules of the games have evolved to the point that what were penalties when we were playing allow a lot of holding, pass interference, and instant judgement by the officials. That was the reason for instant replay. However, it appears that the review officials are concerned that they may embarrass their fellow officials of their extremely poor calls. The sin of the no call on the TD was, I believe, the jealousy of the ACC toward the SEC. They just did not want to face the fact that they would have to rule it a TD if it was reviewed.Too many games are being affected by poor officiating.
Basketball and football being the most obvious.
I‘m going to start watching more golf.
Thank you, Dalai Lama. Next I suppose you'll suggest we send flowers & organic goat cheese to the crooked, incompetent officials.
Your type of mentality is the reason why the NCAA will continue to push Tennessee around.
You’re naive if you think it happens to everyone. Had that been Bama or Georgia, that’s a TD 90% of the time.
Also, nobody is butt hurt over anything. It doesn’t take a genius to see how poorly the game was officiated.
It’s garbage regardless what you think.
