You have ZERO knowledge of why they are leaving.

Maybe it’s because of what if what you say.

Maybe it’s because things are totally messed up.

Maybe it’s because Tennessee is dysfunctional and they see better opportunities.

It’s a BAD look.

From what “true fans” say Tennessee is thin and they need a lot more recruits. The thinner Tennessee gets the worse the situation could get. IF ( we don’t know ) players leave because Tennessee is just bad or things are dysfunctional, getting “thinner” could make even more leave.

It can be a bad look unless we do PR right. If we make it look like they were holding back the team and that we're better off without them then it might be favorable to us with the recruits/media.

My initial thought was the 17 class gets more worthless by the minute...but it has produced Smith, Chandler, Palmer, Calbert, Butler, Bumphus, Bennett, Shamburger, Jackson, Cimiglia and several ST contributors (Page, Labruzza, etc.)...the ones that are buying in are actually providing some decent value to this team...

As for the ones that are leaving...the “team cancer” rumor has been out there for a while but no one ever puts names with it...I think that narrative is further supported with the more players from this specific class that leave...it makes you wonder who’s left that fits that description...

IMO...if it’s a true rumor then I think you should have dropped them from the start...I understand you need players to play but cancers are so detrimental to the team that letting them linger is worse than taking your lumps with a walk on or two...it would have sent a loud message to drop them and role with a walk on

Good luck to the boys, hopefully they find a good fit and it ends up being positive for our rebuild. It’s always tough for players dealing with so much turnover.

Never disagreed with that......just said it was a bad look, and I stand by that.

Most recruits are not on here looking at how negative some of us are. But they and their family have to wonder if Tennessee is right for them every time Tennessee loses, every time they see players leave, and every time they see “UT” is a mess in the national media.
It’s not a bad look...... it’s 3 players that are behind true freshman on the depth chart..... nobody besides Tennessee fans even knows who these guys are..... now if it was Henry T or Crouch or someone like that then yes that would be a bad look.

Ignont does susprise me, as he was starting just a couple of weeks ago. Jacquez Jones hasn't really played anyway in his 3 years here. Shannon Reid was starting to get some amount of playing time, so not sure I get why on that one either. CJP was complementary of him on vol calls before the UTC game I think. Add in those 3 with the Tim Jordan rumor as well, and it's been a rough week. That being said if aren't giving your all for Tennessee, then we don't need that. A team needs everyone pulling the same way.

Assuming those 3 plus Jordan are gone, that means a lot more work for JJ Peterson and Banks at LB, I think Aaron Beasley might move to RB for the rest of the season to help with depth (or have Crouch play a little more there with Carlin Fils-Aime as the 3rd back). Jerrod Means should get more time in the slot with Jones gone. We need to give Means, Tillman, and Keyton a little more playing time as that will be our top 3 returning wide receivers next year (and Gibbs if he plays there).

This is where I am too. We have a hallway full of trophies coaching our team, they didn’t suddenly forget how to coach.

They don’t have the Jimmies and Joes, plain and simple.
One pre season article ( can't remember which one) had a list of the most talented teams in the country based on recruiting rankings. Tennessee was 14 th......In the country. We DO have some Jimmys and Joes, but not sure we have any Moes ( that can coach them up ). There sure have been times this season where we look completely dis functional, alignment problems, stupid penalties, not prepared to play. I guess the verdict is still out as to where the REAL issue lies.

I live on the west side of the state. I remember when Memphis brought in Porter and ran him out in his 2nd year.

When Fuente took over, he was shocked at how toxic the culture was. Kids didn't care and weren't putting in the work.

I don't know if Pruitt is going to be our Fuente or if he is our Porter (I absolutely believe Butch was a horrible coach who wasted a lot of great talent). I do believe there is a lot wrong with some of the players under the old regime. Butch ran a loose ship from all accounts.

Maybe Pruitt is having a F it moment and is ready to clean house of any bad apples. Maybe he has lost the locker room. If we see improvement by the end of the year it's probably the former if not it's probably the latter.

Pruitt is on thin ice and everyone knows this. Let's see where this goes.

Those Ranking were based on pure recruiting ranking and did not account for attrition or how the rankings were conceived. For example Butch loading up w 31 players to inflate the ranking.

Sounds like things are going in the, right direction. Exciting.

Remember when this was happening under butch and we called the players cancers and such like it was a good thing they were leaving, when in reality it's was more of a coach problem? Glad we are not making that mistake again.

I just hope that in 4 years CJP will prove you right and have recruited well enough to beat Georgia State and not get blown out by Vandy and Mizoo..how salty that crow is going be for the non worshippers of Coach P...i myself cannot wait until we have enough talent to beat those bottom feeders!!! What a sweet day it will be to have enough talent to squeak out a win against Sunbelt teams and play close to Vandy..

Doubters be damned.

Geogia State we are going to schedule yall again after this god like staff gets 4 years of THEIR recruits in..then we will probably win..

Will Ignont, Shannon Reid, Jacquez Jones. Patrick Brown says more could follow.

Butch players.... imagine that.

Sure the loss of bodies sucks.

But here’s the bright side in regard to Ignot and Reid leaving: Crouch and Peterson are gonna move up the depth chart and get more practice and playing time. That’s a win
