If this had been an un-numbered list, I could probably live w/ it. But the rankings are terrible. I would like to see how they weighted the different criteria.

I love how both Tubby and Pitino are still ranked higher than Billy G. What I don't like is that Calipari is ranked higher than Pearl.

Coach K=10 final fours, 3 NC's, best winning percentage in the tournament

'Ole Roy=6 final fours, 1 NC, and not with his own players.

Oh, I didn't even notice the rest of the list, it is crap.

Gary Williams is one of the best coaches by far, and he got the shaft. He never gets a bunch of burger boys and still competes in the ACC (even in the up years).

Not to mention those 01, 02 teams he had were something else. And he had to really build that program from the bottom up with all the crap that was at Maryland when he walked in there.

Discrediting a coach for not winning with your own players is stupid to me.

I don't think it is. Recruiting is part of great coaching. He had some great classes he could not win with at KU, but shows up to Carolina who had a superb class already in place and finally gets it done.

Now he is back to recruiting his own style players and had a terrific lineup this year and got killed by Kansas. If the big 3 for them stay and he still does not win it with all he has coming in, there is a problem.

And, even if I did not say that, the other facts are still in place, 6 final fours, 1 championship comapred to K's 10 FF, with 3 championships and the best winning percentage in the NCAA tournament. And i'm pretty sure K has the most sweet 16's also.

So in no way does Roy deserve the #1 spot, maybe not even the 2.

This is not the strongest argument for you at this point (see current team that coach K recruited).

K is still getting the team in place. It's not like Henderson, Scheyer and Singler wouldn't be great additions just about anywhere they went. Once Smith gets the PG spot all that will be missing is a big man. Mason Plumlee might be that guy.

The nucleus you speak of does not strike fear in my heart.
