Top 10 True Freshmen

Good teams don't turn the ball over. Cal's 3rd in the country in turnover margin. You think turnovers are all luck? Oregon could have tied the game late. They didn't. Oregon could have caused Cal to turn it over. They didn't. That's why Cal is better than Oregon.
good teams don't turn the ball over is a bit self-fulfilling. winning teams don't turn the ball over and, hence, win. losing teams often turn it over and, hence, lose.

luck is an enormous element in turnovers and unfortunately, often determines outcomes. The best team does not always win the football game, as was the case Sat. at Oregon.

oregon was not the best team. you lose AT HOME and get COMPLETELY dominated in the second half and you cannot be considered the better team. End of story. Nate was careful with the ball, Dixon was not. That is why dixon had 2 ints and nate had none.

Agreed, but you've got to admit that even after getting outplayed in the 2nd half, to lose a game the way Oregon did is about as unlucky as it gets.

good thing UT has never had that happen

have you played ball before? the idea of "being careful" is probably as foreign to any good ballplayer as any I can think of. Being careful falls under the same heading as playing not to lose. Each most often results in a loss.

I'm not trying to be condescending here . . . but did anybody follow that?

Perhaps, but I don't think it's a lock that Oregon beats Cal in overtime.

Exactly what I was just thinking. What are the odds of that happening once, much less twice in the same season to cost you a game?

I'm a Vol fan so I quit looking at the odds a long time ago.

exactly but its hard to have fun while being politically correct if you know what i mean. face to face you would more than likely not be able to answer most of my questions (cant use comp for back up) but i would be stumped some by you also. just love to talk sports, not teenage cut down, went through that many years ago. that was the drug age. when you have a family you jtend to grow up. but i would still like to get at least one nice comment about what some one think about football and not trying to jcut some one down. if jyou really knew me you would show respect just as i would to you, maybe. if not i guess the better man would make the other say uncle or worse. do the gator chomp.

So now it is about bully tactics?

I asked you four questions and you never answered them.

Again, how about trying to have fun instead of demeaning other people with your rants?

I see so tom brady turns it over far less than Rex Grossman why? luck?

I think he is trying to argue that i'm saying the pac-10 is better than the sec. how saying that Cal is better than Oregon somehow translates to me saying the pac-10 is better than the SEC I have no idea.

Mixed in with, man I could be Heath Shuler or Johnny Majors.

Heck, meet me man to man. I'll whip you!

Yeah, hard to follow.

Welcome to the board.

I am not trying to be the grammar police or pick a fight with you. I am sure that you know plenty about football and the Vols and I am not attacking that knowledge.

What I will say is that you may be the smartest football mind since, I don't know, Lou Holtz. However, if post in a style that looks like it was pounded out by a developmentally challenged fourth grader, people are going to take your opinion less seriously. I know that I have a hard time reading the wall o' text style that some people on here use and I just scan those posts, at best.

The rules of punctuation and grammar are not just some arbitrary rules to make life less convenient. They tend to make your prose more readable and give you the ability to more accurately convey your genius to the rest of us.

Sorry for the rant, I just had to get that off my chest.

This was done with a lot of class. I appreciate what you said. I played football in high school but ruptured a disc in my back. Never to play again. Had a friend help get me involved in the oilfield in Louisiana. I not very good at spelling. Don't fill sorry though, the oilfield pays very well. So I don't mean to sound arrogate but I do know football. I just dislike all the condemnation coming from supposedly Vol fans. If your a Vol fan in Louisiana you are going to get it. I not a genius but I do know more than most. YOU just don't have a chance to say it.:salute:

would you have even considered this question regarding their respective college careers. certainly surroundings, coaching, levelheadedness and experience matter, but to argue that luck isn't a huge chunk of the deal is just silly.

It's hard to follow isn't it?

I guess my point is Cal is overrated, they'll have 2 losses. Ore game Cal was lucky. If Tenn was good we would have stomped them again. I guess I hold a grudge against Cal by the way the fans acted. Tenn fans didn't act any better last year. The SEC is a much better conference. Is that better.
