We never needed TSA to begin with, they’re nothing more than security theater. Airport security was just fine with the locally contracted private security before the TSA.

Nobody is going to highjack an airliner with box cutters again.

The tasks are not complicated, but I imagine familiarity with an extensive list of policies is very time consuming, not to mention training regarding public interfacing, and then HR stuff and all that.
