Too much ice

LOL - their behavior doesn't justify trying to kill them unless your are on Team Vigilante and that opens up a whole other can of worms.

Nobody said it justified it, professor. I'm glad nobody was hurt.

I'm saying stop blaming the watchdogs for retaliation against state overreach. Be accountable for your actions and to the constitution, and these problems will go away.

"Abolish ICE" is more popular than supporting it. I have never heard of that in my life about an agency. They deserve all the criticism and hate. It's not because of rhetoric. It is the reason for the rhetoric.

This incidident is a direct result of ICE behaving like nazis. Everyone will be safer if they stop, even the Nazis.
Lol, I hope your attitude towards ICE isn't shared amongst your allies. If you support Domestic Terrorism and Violence, you also must accept the fact your allies will continue to permanently diminish in numbers. They are the hammer and you are the nail. Tough internet talk means nothing.... The term "Nazi" isn't really relevant to conversations anymore either. I don't think that name calling will make someone reconsider their stance. That has been long gone after the last decade and a half, social pressure has finally been eliminated..

Maybe when Rubio takes over in 2028 we can have a President with big enough balls to follow through with his campaign promises.

You're comparing a hypothetical victimized woman to a violent agency trampling the constitution that has been ruled to have made 4400 illegal arrests in a year and violated 100 court orders just in January.

ICE can act like nazis, but if you call it out you are in the wrong because some crazy might try to hurt them.

GTFOH
You keep saying this BS, but what 4400 illegal arrests? Any actual proof?

You wouldn't know an actual nazi if he seig heilled on your head

Or….
Try this on for size….
We deport criminals that get arrested as a priority and leave the people with EFiN numbers paying the taxes……….that support lazy ******** Americans that I don’t want on my job sites…..alone, until the criminal element is corrected. Then let’s reform the immigration system so those people we need can be utilized. And while we’re at it…..we might ask the employers who is in need of manpower instead of making blanket statements that don’t look anything like reality.

In Tennessee they have quietly stopped helping ice with anything other than the criminals they arrest because they’re killing productivity in the construction and manufacturing industries. Those are not low skilled low wage jobs.
How does the US get tax dollars from someone who entered the country illegally and doesn’t have a SS#? Why would the worker obtain an EFiN# since they won’t file an IRS tax return?

Running a construction company myself, I know most of the illegal subs I encounter provide proof of insurance but they have 8 guys all named Jose on site but their policy covers 2 employees. This drives up insurance rates for everyone who’s honestly following the rules.

The system is definitely broken, but I don’t see the solution being a work force of undocumented illegals.

Conversely, many of these guys I’ve come to know are super nice folks, especially those from Guatemala who fled the past Mayan genocide there along with the current discrimination. I recently read an article that 65% of their population is native Mayan people yet they have only 1 representative in their congress.

Kind of like what is coming for Republicans in Virginia.

But why? What is the point of so much of what is going on? Spend! Spend! Spend! **** common sense.

From what I saw, this includes detaining refugees who haven't gotten green cards by the one-year mark, even though they CANNOT obtain green cards until they've been here for at least one year

Why aren't refugees going back to their home countries when the situation changes there? Refugee status is supposed to be temporary and not a path to permanent residency.

If you’re not collecting an efin before they start then that’s you hurting the system. It’s been my experience that the American subs are way worse at not having paperwork in order. Insurance?!?!? These MFers (especially the Americans) don’t have workers comp. They pay for an exemption. It’s like 20$

I can only speak for construction contractors but if you don’t give me your efin before you start then you are not working. And if I issue a 1099 and you don’t file then they come get you for tax evasion.

Believe it or not most “illegals” that work do so for the same pay as anyone else. They have bank accounts and drivers licenses.

Again, if the trumpsters want to deport people committing crimes then have at it. But people here 20+ years with children who are citizens and paying taxes should be left alone

Refugees aren't "illegals"
Fair enough - the dialogue from the 2 different sides is blurry to me as some refer to “entered the country illegally and are now seeking asylum “ as illegals while others refer to these as refugees? I certainly understand why anyone who’s entered the country legally might apply for a green card. I don’t understand how the large number of folks who entered illegally over the past 30+ years and are operating as legal citizens? How do they get the necessary documentation to legally work in this country. And, if they are working here without said documentation, how are they paying taxes / filing an IRS tax return

That's commendable but that isn't what's going on in most places
