Yeah this whole episode was pure trash. It looks like a banana republic political kidnapping. And since they took her into custody and then later just let her go when the local sheriff got invoked seems to indicate it wasn’t far off of a political kidnapping.

It's not a civil offense....it's a federal criminal offense to enter the country illegally...the only illegals who only violate a civil ordinance are the ones who overstay student visas
