Too much ice

I don't think he's cooked, but it's poor, unethical journalism.

I don't see much coming out of this but his future employment opportunities keep getting leaner. No newsroom wants that walking lawsuit at one of their desks.
He shouldn't even be hired as a "journalist" because he's an embarrassing clown

Again. Actions beget reactions. Did he overreact? OK. Was she filming or did she walk up and shove it his face kind of filming? That too. Gotta say if someone was filming in my face at 4" I'd probably slap it out and take it too. Stupid people incite stupid reactions.

Yea when you’re so close I can’t tell if you’re touching the man with your camera, you’ve now moved beyond filming.

Taking her phone was excessive. Would’ve preferred he just knock it away. But everything she’s doing is also excessive.

Then the losers get on here and claim they’re just “filming” or “directing traffic”.

The lies from both sides are weird.

Does a 'journalist' failed and fired CNN opinion-dispenser have the right to 'interview' the pastor when he was supposed to have been leading and teaching the congregation? Or would that be considered preventing him/them from freely exercising their religious rights?
What credentials did he produce identifying himself as a member of the press?

He's a podcaster.

I wouldn't be so sure...this is more than just a trespassing/DOC type charge

SMH.

21st century American Gestapo. Trump so very, very much wants to be the unchecked dictator...

Dozens of asylum seekers and refugees who passed a rigorous, years-long vetting process before being admitted to the United States, have been arrested in Minnesota in recent weeks, immigration lawyers and advocates say.

The immigrants are shackled and placed on flights to detention facilities in Texas, where they are forced to recount painful asylum claims with limited or no contact with family members or attorneys, lawyers and advocates say.

Some, after days of interviews with officers, have been released in Texas without money, identification or phones. Others remain detained without information about why they’re being held.

Late Wednesday, a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order preventing the Trump administration from arresting or detaining resettled refugees in Minnesota while a class-action lawsuit challenging the practice plays out. The judge also ordered the immediate release of all detained refugees in Minnesota, as well as the release of those taken out of the state within five days and gave the government 48 hours to provide a list of detained refugees.

I think he's considering himself a citizen journalist. Does his claim and designation mean that we're all protected by the 2A as long as we livestream ourselves while taking part in the crime? If you live stream yourself interviewing the victim of a gang r**e when it's your turn, do you get to claim the arrest is just a tyrannical government targeting the 2A? Or do you just get to make that claim to try to create a narrative in hopes that sympathetic idiots buy it and repeat it loudly and often enough to try it outside the courthouse?

Charges are much easier to get than convictions. And judges are careful not to damage journalism by setting precedent based on ones unethical practices.

I think this is much better suited for civil court. Any group or individual there is ripe for lawsuit.

They sure gave it one hell of an attempt the last go 'round. Tend to agree with him on this matter.

The democrat party is filled with nuts. Sadly it's more of the party of other. Name anything that has to do with responsibility and it's not a core democrat party tenant. Heck the republican party forgets half of them sometimes.

Personal responsibility - no
Self reliance - no
Self governance - no
Law abiding - no
Fiscal responsibility - no
Secure border - no
Secure elections - no

Serious questions:

(1) What makes him a journalist? Having a Youtube channel?
(2) Does everyone with a Youtube channel have the right to participate in crimes in the name of journalism?

He's a known media personality. There are a lot of independent journalists these days making a good living.

No, see number 1. I do believe what he did was against the law at worst, flirting with it at best. I don't see any significant convictions coming from this. I do see a significant lawsuit a real possibility though.

Someone may have already posted this. Interesting comment from Todd Blanche this morning during the press conference about the release of Epstein files and videos. Took a question about the Pretti killing. Reporter asked if the video of Pretti kicking out the taillight would have any effect on the investigation of the killing. He said “I don’t think a single video should change any perception that the DOJ may or may not have about the incident itself.” Sort of surprised me that he commented.

Also noted that, unlike the Goode incident, the DOJ has begun a civil rights violation investigation in the Pretti killing. They appear to be covering all their bases.

So, any former or quasi-known media personality with a YouTube account gets to participate in crimes and get 2A protections?

(I'm not trying to be needlessly snarky. I'm trying to find the boundaries.)

Nobody gets to participate in crimes and claim 2A protections.

I assume you might mean 1A? I've laid out my position fairly clearly here. Not sure what more you want from me.

There's not a person on this board that would be cool with someone they don't know walking up and shoving a camera within 12" of your face. Anyone that says they would is lying. I do agree actually taking the phone, actual seizure, is more problematic. If he'd just swatted it away and kept walking she could pound sand for whatever damage it caused. I'd feel the same about literally anyone in that scenario. So many people now operate under the "Well, I feel justified to do X." and it's maddening. (and note this last sentence didn't point in any particular direction)

Pocahontas is an idiot. Her speech was pulled from a Harlequin novel before any facts came out about Pretti. She is supposed to be a Senator. Check your facts, have some discernment .

Seems to be a trend....

MSDNC used an photoshopped image of Pretti being tanned, sculped and with dazzling teeth to make him look perfect.

Yes. Thank you. My bad. I was typing while on the phone.

I'm not trying to pester of be combative. They were genuine questions, asked in good faith. No worries if that was the limit of the conversation.

Shapiro said, “We’re not a sanctuary state in Pennsylvania. … And I do believe in law enforcement collaboration, at all levels, local, state, and federal. But I also believe that all of your partners need to be working together on a mission that is constitutional, working together on a mission that reduces crime, that brings law and order to a community, and that protects people’s constitutional rights, and, respectfully, that’s not what I’m seeing in Minnesota. So, I’m happy to work with my partners, at every level, to create more safety, to build more trust.”

Host Bret Baier then asked, “When you ask people, though, taking criminal illegal immigrants off the street, would you honor ICE detainers, if you’re not willing to hold someone longer in a jail for ICE, what about a phone call that gives ICE the heads-up that you’re releasing that person? That’s where a lot of the pushback is coming.”

Shapiro answered, “We want our communities to be safe. And we work with our federal partners where appropriate. As an example, if we have a violent criminal who’s about to leave one of our jails, we do collaborate and communicate with our federal partners. We want our communities to be safe.”

Baier then cut in to say, “But so that’s the problem with sanctuary cities and sanctuary states.”

Shapiro then cut in to respond, “We’re not a sanctuary state.”

Baier then cut in to ask, “I know you’re not. Do you think that Gov. Walz (D) and Mayor Frey are doing the right thing?”

Shapiro responded, “I’m not going to opine on other governors. I can tell you what I do in Pennsylvania. We work together to reduce crime. That is what we’ve accomplished.”

Both Shapiro and Fetterman are clowning on progressive politicians directly and indirectly.

You are trying to deface my statement for the sake of you winning another argument. I am not Donald Trump, I do not blindly support every decision of his. I clearly said ANY place of religion. Bro you are so brainwashed that you think everyone is against you just because of the party they voted for.

I don’t care about Muslims, Jews, Atheists… so on. I’m a believing Christian and I treat everyone with respect when interacting with them out in the real world. There’s not some flashing LED sign above a random strangers head that says “Radical Islamist Here”. Everyone deserves respect, until they lose that right.

Whatever the rhetoric is in current society has nothing to do with me.

This! 2x's
