This guy who has a concealed carry license should not bring his gun to an event that could attract anti-protesters who could very well be violent.

Begs the question… Why have a concealed carry permit in the first place? Should he just be taking his gun with him to church or the rollerskating rink? Which similarly begs the question do they even still have rollerskate rinks?

Your 2A rights are protected under the BOR. That's not in question here.

It's his choice to bring that firearm to this ongoing chaotic event (not the best choice). My point is even with his rights protected, it doesn't protect one from making a dumb decision. All firearm owners are taught several rules as a new gun owner, with one of them being that you have to be responsible with this weapon, treat it as always loaded, etc. When carrying the firearm out in public, your awareness needs to be elevated (not glued to your phone) and don't place yourself in situations that require the use of this firearm, unless it's a method of last resort.

Considering the violence against church goers lately, it's imperative to always be armed in your place of worship.

Everyone has different and valid reasons for obtaining their carry license. Again, it's his choice to carry that day to the show in Minneapolis

Considering how popular anti-police rhetoric is (brought to you by BHO / Biden administration), I can understand why LEO's may be nervous and concerned when a civilian approaches officers with a firearm that's visible and / or open carried. One's body language, interaction and communication with officers goes a long way. In no way is that an indicator on LEO's you deem poorly trained.

If you carry at protests, try not to get involved with LEO. If you do, that needs to be first words from your mouth while you present yourself in a non-threatening manner. Simply complying can go a long way.

To be honest, imo ICE is still going way too slow, I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about them. To me, if one wanted to make a good dent in this, I would assume you need a drastic rise and I don't necessary think one can trust that self-deportation number. Wake me up when deportations are in 2-4m range.

Short of putting a gun in the victim’s hand and the hand being free to bring the gun to bear on an agent there is nothing they can show me to justify this.

And as you’ve said if I was on the bottom of that dog pile I’d already have put whoever fired into it in the hospital with a 2x4 embedded in their skull.

Body cameras are often not super useful in a scrum like that, in my experience. You’re just as likely to end up looking at some other ICE dudes’ hairy ass crack.

I think audio would be helpful but as close quarters as it was the video likely won’t add anything to the many video clips we have. And I’d guess any bodycam footage right at the beginning of the encounter will never see the light of day because again the other video just looks so damning.

The tell will be if the victim’s video is released or not. I mean it doesn’t get much more firsthand than that and we all saw the phone in his hand up to the point where he went to the ground.
