I'll post this in this thread instead of the other because I'd like to hear opinions:

Question for the Anti-ICE brigade....
whether you agree or disagree with the laws that give ICE free reign to arrest and deport illegal immigrants, WHY and what logical reason (and do you agree with) Blue cities and state that arrest illegal criminals for a variety of crimes (everything from theft, drugs, DUI, murder, rape, vehicular homicide, etc.) and then shield or release those criminals to protect them from ICE. Local authorities who refuse to communicate or turn them over to ICE despite the fact they are criminals here as well??

This is the crux that started this whole issue when they refused to assist ICE and Border Patrol the last 5 years..

For example, Knox County Sheriff cooperates with ICE detainers and they currently have 121 illegal criminals in their prison awaiting deportation or jail, imagine if they didn't care about their own city and just released them back or didn't want them deported?

Ordinarily, if a criminal defendant had immigration proceedings against them – which is common – immigration officials would inform prosecutors what was happening. In minor cases, a defendant can sometimes choose to self-deport in lieu of prosecution.

“It’s just beyond me how they would deport him without the prosecutors … being in on the conversation,” Levenson said. “This really was the left hand not knowing what the right hand was doing.”

But he wasn’t. They had just hit the ground and were still fighting for control of his arms when he was sprayed.
It’s not like they walked up and sprayed someone in cuffs. We can argue what it means to be subdued but had he not been resisting arrest then he doesn’t get sprayed.

Furthermore if he’s protecting a politician instead of trying to interfere with law enforcement he doesn’t get arrested and might actually have a chance at effecting a change in the law.


You can have the last word with me on this if you want it.
