Too much ice

first hand, no. second hand yes. one of my project's jobsites was shut down after ICE detained a bunch of legal immigrants and citizens.

most were back about two days later, one of the citizens had their passport confiscated, and not returned at time of release. the super told me of those that didn't return some said they were afraid to, and others were still being detained by ICE.
Some of the “legal” ones may have broken the law while here which revokes their legal status. Most likely some kind of temporary work visa etc

You have Trump and a bunch of others and their rhetoric, then Walz and the Minneapolis Mayor and their rhetoric. I think that's likely who he means by the left. It's undeniable theirs and other's comments like "put your body on the line" etc have seriously escalated and emboldened people to confront and hinder ICE operations.

Regardless of what you think about those operations they are encouraging people to break law and put them and ICE officers in positions that benefit neither and can only have horrible outcomes. I was happy to see the mayor urging people to protest peacefully and not engage. That was the correct tone and message all along.
Hence my comment about painting with a broad brush. It's a small number who call for the actions mentioned.
