Interview process was a formality. They are prioritizing those with military or LEO experience. She has military experience. There were only 150 people there while she was there. From her description of the venue, the agency was prepared for many more.
She was told she would not be in the field immediately but would work in a support capacity. Which in my opinion, conflicts with the premise in the headline and lede.
She was offered a job even without going through every single step in the process. She thinks if she had accepted the things she skipped would be done as part of her official onboarding process.

Yeah, I got through that much of it before it was cut off.

From what I could read I don't understand the problem with the process and agree that the title conflicts with the premise. Also, IMO it appears that ICE isn't discriminating based on political opinions which is a good thing.

In her discussion with a lead, there was some mention of the way other applicants are "gung ho" to slap some cuffs on people.

I saw something yesterday that said only 58% of Republicans think the shooting was justified. Only 27%-35% total in the various polls I'm seeing.

ICE faces more abolitionists than supporters. From The Economist:

Justified and legal are two different things. Was the shooting justified? No. Was it legal, yes.
