Thanks to T. Rob. UT beat Bama all four yrs. I was in HS, which was great since all of our coaches except one was a Bama fan. I got see him play only once in person, and it was my first trip to Neyland, unfortunately it was the 84 UK game.:banghead2:
My revisionist history has us not playing UK in '84. Of course, it also has us not hiring a coach with a losing record at a directional school who happened to be the son of a well known coach.
T Rob was very "talented" but is overrated in the minds of a lot of fans.
Comp% 61%. 23 TD 17 int. 187 rush yards, 1.4 ypc
Dobbs:
Comp % 60%. 27TD 18 int. 1400 rush yards, 4.5 ypc 20 TDs
Now for a wild comparison:
Jon Crompton's senior season:
58.3% 2800yds 27TD 13int
Redskins, and he did play pretty well. I had hoped he would stick after the strike ended.
Now the legendary quarterback, who played in the NFL for the Washington Redskins, plans to be at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday to see his alma mater take on Virginia Tech in the Pilot/Flying J Battle at Bristol. He recently visited the massive stadium and thought about what it will be like for the current group of players to take part in one Tennessee tradition.
There is nothing like running through the T at UT, but playing here would be hard to explain, he said. I think I would throughly enjoy it.
Many throughly enjoyed watching Robinson play and his style as a dual-threat quarterback has drawn comparisons with current Vols signal caller Josh Dobbs. Robinson sees it himself. He reminds me of myself a little bit, Robinson said. He is a little bit better than I was. I think hes going to come along and turn out to be a brute force.

Excellent read on Robinson from early June, don't think I've seen it posted here:
Robinson says he returned to Knoxville to get his degree from Tennessee. He needs 12 hours to graduate. He took spring and summer semesters off, but returns the classroom in the fall. In the meantime, Robinson umpires youth baseball games and works other jobs.
Getting his sociology degree is priority No. 1.
Its huge, Robinson said. Thats what I came to school for, to get my degree. I told my mom Id get my degree, and thats what Im here to do, get my degree. I told my mom and dad that a long time ago. I want to get that degree and just move on.

I was there and enjoyed every minute, Bo Jackson didn't play the 2nd half due to thigh bruise
Was there also and I'm pretty sure Bo played some in the 2nd half. I did have the binocs on Pat Dye when he was pointing his finger and demanding Bo return to the field. Bo just sat there, helmet off, and shook his head "...no...". One of the greatest Vol beat-downs ever. Still have that Sports Illustrated in my collection.
