The "predominant color" of a good coaching staff looks like mutual earned respect, admiration, hard work, and applied intelligence. That's what color I want to see. I don't give a damn what skin they are wearing. See the man - not his skin. dang.

I don't know who they will hire , but I do know it has to be somebody with lots of experience so they don't have to micromanage them like Fulmer did Pruitt.
Need a guy basically we can give the keys to and say DRIVE us to the promiseland.

Also, any coach that interviews for the position, it will help their "pitch" if they can talk about "this guy for DC/That guy for OL, etc"...and that doesn't happen w/o them reaching out to talk w/ the targeted people. So, I'm not surprised to hear alot of this chatter from various candidates.

I'm good with Tony Elliott, I want him to try to poach some coaches from Clemson.

Try to bring Brandon Streeter (QB), Robbie Caldwell (OL), Mickey Conn (safeties and former Grayson High school coach).

HC: Elliott

Defense
DC/ILB: Steele
OLB/Recruiting: Kevin Simon
Safeties: Conn
DL: Garner
CB: Ansley or someone else

Offense
OC/TE: Chaney
OL: Caldwell
QB/Passing Game: Streeter
WR/ Special Teams: Tee Martin
RB: Jay Graham

That's personally how I'd like to see it go. If you can't get Streeter then Osovet can coach QBs. Weinke needs to be gone or off the field. Herb Hand for OL if you can't get Caldwell.

We'd essentially be firing Ansley, paying his buyout, and then rehiring him to coach CB. That's not going to happen.

Streeter would be promoted to OC at Clemson, no way he comes. Same with Caldwell.

There’s nothing racist about it. Players are predominately black. I think it would be good to have a coaching staff match the team.

This. So much. I am for a black coach, a white coach and a Asian Coach if they are qualified. Bring it, who gives a sh*t about color these days. I know the media narrative is saying its as bad as its ever been but in my small town in Tennessee with a population of 3% black, we have elected a black mayor who served the past 8 years until he passed away of covid.

I’m going to say this again he could be the next Saban , but I don’t know if we have the luxury of waiting to find our , it’s tough enough to transition from being coordinator to head coach , even tougher to do it at a P5 school and even tougher at TN with what we are facing

Well they can't both be promoted. I assume you are just meaning Caldwell isn't coming, which is reasonable since he's 67 and from SC. Streeter also is a Clemson Grad so he'd be a hard pull, but someone you have to go after regardless. I also provided alternatives to both in my initial post anyway.

There is no need for that here. We are all Vols fans and no matter who the Coach is, we support em. If you have a problem with the race of the Coach, change teams and root for a “Coach” that you feel more comfortable with.
