Tony Basilio just reported...

Phil's saying they are starting over is very disingenuous. When they started the first time they didn't have lawsuits from Schiano and probably Currie to factor into the financial equation. Also a whole bunch of "no" responses to their inquiries. In truth they are starting from behind with someone who has no experience as an AD muddled up in the decision-making hierarchy. Yay.

Basilio and Leach would get along well. They both bat sh** crazy. I think Basilio would be his 1st mate

I actually believe we have a much better chance of landing a really good coach, like a Patterson, Petersen, Fuente, or others. I think a lot of people in the industry didn’t like or respect Currie. But I truly believe Fulmer is very respected amongst coaches in the industry and that could help us in this search.

Will we land a big fish? Idk it depends if we are willing to spend money and give up control. Which is more likely now that with Haslams at helm.

Regardless I think we finish with a good coach.

If Gus does indeed leave Auburn, I would love to see us bring Kevin Steele back as DC. I don’t think Tee comes as OC, only as HC.

My guy is Petersen probably unlikely but that’s my choice.

Throw the bank at Peterson and if he says no then move on.

I love all the Basilio hate. He single handedly kept us from having Schiano as a head coach. Some of you are ignorant as hell

I listen to Tony;enjoy his show. Who is the cohost on his show this week, he laughs all the time. Loud, obnoxious laugh.

That Fulmer has wiped the slate clean with the coaching search and is starting over. Said his first two targets are confirmed to be Fuente and Patterson and he's contacting them directly (no agents) to see if they're interested.

Also reported that Bev Davenport went over Haslam's head to appoint Fulmer as AD. Said Haslam wanted Currie's assistant (forgot his name) and Bev told him "over my dead body." Said we owe Bev Davenport a lot of gratitude for standing up to the Haslams.

WOW! I take back all the bad things I've said about Bev!

I know a lot of you talk smack about all the radio guys. I would just like to say that you just don't know how good you got it. I have served 20+ years of active service, being deployed and listening to Swain and Tony online are the only highlights I get from my beloved Vols. For a small portion of my day, I feel like I am home. Getting that little taste of K-town means a lot. I tip Tony anytime I can. You don't have to agree with them, but those two have done more for our fan base than any of you armchair quarterbacks. Go ahead and talk smack, but those two were vital to us getting back our beloved University. Go Vols! #Philslike98

I concur,,btw when I was first deployed overseas (before the internet) we oftentimes wouldn't even know who won the games until the Stars and Stripes military newspaper was delivered to the base sometimes the day after...

In those cases didn’t the NCAA grant no restrictions on xfers out?

No restrictions whatsoever. I guess the fact that Hugh Freeze only got a 2 game suspension and NO SHOW CAUSE should have told me they were handling this differently.
