You're obviously confused. The Pearl supporters are the NegaVols. Everybody else thinks we have a good enough program to not wait through a suspension.

Way to try and twist it. Good try but you fail. It is obvious who are the Negavols.

Oh good grief. A supposed presser we're all supposed to obsess about all weekend? Didn't we already do this once before?

Nope, the failures are the ones who think there is one guy on the planet who can win here. Keep posting you one liner trash.

Would be funny if it was just them saying Pearls contract was finished and signed. People would absolutely die.

The UT athletic department has been a mess for the past few years, and whether or not it was directly or indirectly his fault, it lies at his feet, along with Kiffin and Pearl. I am tired of bball and fball violations being our main headline when we have what I believe to be a very good football coach, and a football program back on the rise. Whether we all agree with it or not, which personally I do, I think Phillip Fulmer will be our next AD. He ran the football program clean for almost 2 decades. I think he will bring back the class that UT needs at the ad slot. Im sure that Hammy is a great guy, and he has been a good interview everytime I have heard him on 104.5 The Zone in Nashville, but the negatives far outweigh the positives.

I'm sure Fulmer is a great guy, but he's not qualified to be an AD, and he's shown a tendency to hang on to underproductive guys too long.

Also, isn't double doubleD redundant?

Sorry lol. Yeah I guess it is. I just think we need a steady hand for a while. Maybe not a long term ad, but somebody who will really keep an eye on violations and things of that sort.

Oh, I agree, I just don't think Phil is that guy. Last time we had a former football coach as an AD, the basketball team fell off the map. We need to hire a professional athletic director, and a good one, not a beloved former coach.

Not as much on this site, but the general consensus is that Phil will be the one to replace Hammy. Doug Matthews has stated several times that in conversations he has had with people in Knoxville, that Fulmer will and already has got some mention for the job, because most of the big time boosters still love him, and I believe Cheeks thinks very highly of him.

If that's the case, I do not have high hopes for our athletic future. I have nothing against Fulmer. I just think that we're going away from having former coaches serve as AD--it's a position with a different skill set. And it's not Fulmer's skill set.

is a high pressure big business--and in football and basketball the teams are full of kids who probably shouldn't be in college at all--half of them, anyway. Every major program all over the country has incidents with their players; it comes with the territory. Any time there are coaching changes things are a little messy. Hamilton deserves HUGE credit for getting rid of Fulmer, who became a big loser in the last several years of his career--lazy, poor decisions and a lot of excuse making. He made a bold move to hire Kiffin and we got unlucky when he left. He hired Pearl, who has only been the best basketball coach we've ever had. It's not Hamilton's fault he screwed up. As for the Hammy interview the day before the game, I think he made an innocent mistake. He should have said nothing but instead made a cryptic comment that, to say the least, was not well received. We certainly don't want our coaches getting in trouble, but some of this is simply the nature of college athletics. :hi:

Doug Matthews has his head so far up Failmer's ass it's not even funny. If the big boosters loved him so much, wonder why they all, with the exception of Thornton, signed off on canning his ass.

I will agree, he does seem to be a big Fulmer guy, but I figure that he is pretty well tied in at the university ain't he?
