No fighting from here. I may question the competence of the AD, but whether the coach is Bruce Pearl, or Joe Schmoe next season, I'm pulling for the Vols.

The Rocky Top Talk article from last night was at least well-reasoned and understanding of the complications (i.e. that a suspension is likely). I didn't agree with it, but it was refreshing compared to a lot of the arguments I hear.

That is a 19 yr old kid who loves coach pearl speaking. If he gets his grades and we get a coach he likes he might reconsider rather than have to sit out another year. More than likely going to Junior College any way.

I meant as a scout or assistant coach until his show cause penalty is served. Then he will be back in the college game somewhere maybe division 2.

Ummm..not even close to accurate. The Pearl supporters ARE the negavols considering most of them are saying the program will be doomed and some even saying they won't support the program anymore.

What you meant to say is Pearl Fans vs. Vol Fans.

I'm not a negavol at all. I love what Pearl did to elevate the program. BUT, you cannot just sweep his poor judgment under the rug. It's not just the BBQ. It is calling the recruits to manipulate their statements to the NCAA and then the final straw, which was the "bump" a mere 4 days after the tearful news conference. He simply does not know how to play by the rules anymore.

I want to be successful, but in a way that reflects well on my alma mater. That is why I was glad when Kiffin got outta here and why I believe a change needs to be made in men's basketball as well.

One man is not bigger than the school.

Then I think you're misreading what he said. He said Pearl supporters are negavols, and you said you weren't a negavol and you weren't supporting Pearl.

I agree, it is sickening. Good riddance to them, and I hope they don't come back. Hut the damn road for all I care.

So I keep hearing about a press conference but only on message boards. It could be possible tomorrow comes and goes without a press conference or has their been any conformation what so ever???

I sincerely hope that Bruce Pearl IS retained, regardless of what the nega-Vols say.

If you going to hire a coach now would be the time. You go after the guy who makes the most impressive run in the tournament that how we ended up with Pearl in the first place. I think he's done enough at the school to be given a second chance for all his errors this season. Doesn't appear its going to happen. I think he will land on his feet in a couple of years be back coaching in Div 1.
