i never had my question answered earlier. Was thig one of the coaches that got a raise? If not we need to pay him now. I really dont see him going to UNC but if somewhere else better started knocking on the door im sure he would listen quick. I think if he was to go to UNC, it would be because he wants a dc job one day, because most likely chizik will be head coach there in a couple of years and he would get to promoted to DC most likely, just my 2 cents. But thig is a great recruiter and we need him. I honestly dont see anyone better that we could hire for a position coach like himself

Last April Thigpen got bumped $25K to approximately $382K. He was the only assistant to get a raise last year. When CBJ negotiated his contract extension last month it also included a raise for his assistants however the exact amounts have not been decided or at least made public yet. If Thig stays he will get another raise along with all the other assistants.

That's more than either of our Coordinators make....for him to coach at his alma mater. Would hate to lose him, but there's no way we match that.

Would love to keep him. I don't care about the cost. He's done well with the linebackers and is probably our best recruiter.

When the new raises take affect Thig will be at about $410K not including Bowl bonus. Both coordinators will be around 500K. We could give Thig a fancy title and bump him to close to 500K but don't think we will. I believe Thig wants to make the move back to Chapel Hill but this may not be the right situation for him.

I've not seen anything official, only speculation. Thig's name has certainly been tossed around as a possible candidate, though. There was a lengthy thread about it here on Thursday.

And just for clarification, the info you're referring to (correct me if I'm wrong) is from a poster, not an actual media report.
