Tommy Thigpen Rumor

UNC is a dumpster fire. NCAA should hammer them for academic scandal

The NCAA? lol
Teams can pay players, steal crab legs and commit academic scandal and it's "all good".
They only show up if a team like UGA self imposes a penalty.
Then when asked if it was harsh enough, they reply "no"
to give an illusion of any form of authority.

So 4 star players n now our best recruiter according to VN is jumping ship...

Now what happened between yr 2 n yr 3 of dools??? Same record to this point n some discontent of star players n coaches. Is this groundhog day or what..lol

Jk...well maybe.. Sunshine sheep don't jump off the cliff yet

LOL.
Someone should bump the "Do negavols really exist" thread and just use yours and Volfanbills posts.
The truth is out there. lulz

That would make sense except for the fact that he has a top 5 recruiting class, first bowl game in 4 years, and vast improvements on defense/team speed. Carry on with your lunacy you certainly have a lot of help from several on this board

What I was just going along with op.. But u guys r paranoid n can't understand joking..geez if cbj isva winner he will win n if he is a loser he will lose.. Get over it..

Tomorrow is your judgment day..

Wouldn't even be a lateral move in my mind. This would be losing momentum.

You are right it wouldn't even be lateral as a position coach. If it wasn't for the fact that Thig played and coached at UNC and has worked with Chizik then I would say there is no way. As it is I would still be shocked unless he was given a title like co-defensive coordinator and/or recruiting coordinator. I could see him accepting the same salary as he is making here ($382,200) if he has a title. With the bowl bonus Thigpen will be over 400K for this year. Just don't see UNC paying that much.

Yeah, but grades are way up, and Dooley never recruited like Butch Jones has. Look how well we did with all the freshman we played. We lost the 4 stars because they were apparently not getting many reps and were recruiting even more talented competition. It happens. The kids that left wanted more PT which is what Butch promised they would get the chance to compete to have. They did not, probably learned a lot and could go start somewhere else. He now is looking at 2 potential top 5 recruiting classes that should produce Ws. If he can continue to do that, we will be competing for more than Dooley ever came close to. I'm still concerned about our Oline though, and losing thig will not be good.

Always bringing the garbage. You are the definition of a negavol. That's ok though. The world needs folks like you to feel sorry for.

Not jumping to conclusions but it's no secret that Thigpen hasn't been as active in recruiting this year.

He really got worn out last year. He has played more as a closer on higher priority recruits this year. Not as active still equals our best recruiter on staff right now.

I have heard a little rumor that with Chizik being hired as DC at UNC that he is going to try and bring Thig back to his alma mater. Hopefully, this is nothing more than a rumor, but you never know how people will respond when your school comes knocking.

Pay Thig!

Now that the season is winding down, are you trying to ramp up for the off-season soap opera?

Don't see it, UNC is a HOT MESS, and why would Thig jump in to the fire after all his hard work? If money is the issue, that doesn't get you very far when fixing a program that loves basketball over football.....this is an epic fail on one of the biggest days of the season for UT.

Having raised two daughters I am well versed in dealing with drama queens. Don't get mad, don't listen and don't respond because as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow so will the next drama crisis.

Why the hell would he go to UNC? That is a backwards move...................

You leave UT for UNC in men's basketball or baseball. Not any other sport. Especially football..........

Dont see thig leaving here to go to unc. Would probably be a pay cut to tell you the truth. The only way i see him moving there is if he wanted to be a DC one day.

Thigpen is our best recruiter, so losing him would be an enormous blow. Not to mention we do not have a very diversified staff with only 2 AA coaches. We could possibly lose both AA coaches and that is a big problem. Having an all-white staff is beyond stupid when you are recruiting mostly AA players.
