Texas fires Herman after going 7-3 and we keep cornbread after going 3-7. We deserve all the crap we get and then some!
I think regardless of who he was, Fulmer was going to give any coach he hired four years to turn it around outside of a major scandalIf 3-7 overall and 0-9 against your main rivals isn’t enough to get him fired, then that’s all you need to know.
Pruitt is Fulmer’s guy.
He won’t fire him unless he’s forced too.
Maybe he come to UT as offense coordinator? Too soon?Ridiculous to fire Herman. Would've been 10-3 in a normal season and all 3 of his losses were by 3 points or less, including a 4-OT loss to Oklahoma.
I'd happily take Herman if Texas doesn't want him. The last former Texas coach we hired has worked out pretty well.
Herman said that while fans might cheer on black student-athletes on the field, off the field fans can treat them entirely differently. “Can the average fan relate? No, they can’t,” In an interview with Austin American-Statesman’s Brian Davis. “There’s a double standard maybe a little bit. We’re going to pack 100,000 people into DKR and millions watch on TV that are predominantly white — not all of them certainly, but most of ’em white. We’re gonna cheer when they score touchdowns, and we’re gonna hug our buddy when they get sacks or an interception. But we gonna let them date our daughter? Are we going to hire them in a position of power in our company? That’s the question I have for America. You can’t have it both ways. And if you’re going to cheer them and love them for three-and-a-half hours a Saturday in the fall, you better have the same feelings for them off the field, because they’re human beings. They deserve the same amount of respect and human rights that all of us do in this country when we agreed on the social contract to be a member of the United States.”
I strongly suspect his plan is more than 4 years. He thinks he did not deserve to be fired after 10 years of decline (minus the years when Cut came back). He is loyal to a fault.I think regardless of who he was, Fulmer was going to give any coach he hired four years to turn it around outside of a major scandal
