Do they only sing "The Eyes of Texas" after the Oklahoma game? I thought they did this after every game.

Hope Elinger grad transfers to Baylor but I can picture him going to Oklahoma. Spring ball would be fun to watch as a Lake Travis and Westlake QBs battle it out.

It’s truly amazing how far that program has fallen.
From what point? Mack Brown’s time towards the end was pathetic...Strong’s even more so. People either weren’t alive or forget the McWilliams/Mackovic eras.

Caleb Williams arrives next season and they’ll give Rattler another year.

They benched Rattler for almost two quarters on Saturday. He still needs more seasoning. A year behind Elinger would buy him that time.

BIG XII refs actually helped Herman out (go figure) and he still refused to seal the deal.

He’ll be a redshirt sophomore in playing time and a redshirt freshman in eligibility. They won’t import a Longhorn...not that he’d pick that destination.

One upmanship. We can win yours or ours was always better.

Aside from not knowing what the word unity means.... is there something else I’m missing here?

Deep down, Texas doesn’t think it should be great because they were good at some previous point. They think they should be great because they are the flagship school in a very large state that worships football and is the #1/#2 revenue school in the country. Not all that dissimilar from A&M, which is also a school that overstates its (lack of) historical success, though nowhere near what Texas does. Texas is a far less historically successful program than their big rival Oklahoma, despite Oklahoma having to raid Texas for recruiting and bringing in less money.

Overall though, the school that overrates their history the most combined with the most out of whack expectations about their future prospects is Michigan.

Great post and think you are correct in your assessments.
