And my statement was toward the person that mentioned that CJP was still interested in Tee Martin. Read the tweet all the way through.
I’m aware of what it says. It’s mostly about Monken as well as the THREAD TITLE. You didn’t mention Tee in a thread about Monken, it would seem you were talking about him

Heck our best coach is coaching wr and you want to replace him with a failed uscw coach. Tee is suppose to be a good recruiter but who knows.
Tee is one of the best WR coaches in the country. He is also arguably the best recruiter in the country, with FOUR top two finishes in the recruiter rankings (including two wins). If he wants to come to TN and doesn't expect to call plays, you get him here. Then in a few years maybe we will look like Clemson and have 5 star wide receivers carving up Alabama instead of struggling to get open.

I understand. I simply over reacted and I do apologize. I did what I complain about others doing...hijacking a thread.

I don't want Tee as the OC either.

I think Monkn would be awesome (I just don't see him coming back to CFB).

I'm not sure he passed on Yurchich (sp). He very well just decided to take a better job.
I mean I'm not sure but I think Yurchih's salary is pretty low if Tennessee actually extended him an offer. You would think we would pay around to same amount to him as Helton was getting. I think he received significantly less at OSU.

Or he's simply wanting to land the best candidate for the job and it's taking some time.
How much longer is it supposed to take?
All these other top programs are getting it done.
Most of these OC's are established guys and their resumes should speak for themselves.

I would agree with all of this. I definitely wouldn't want just Tee calling plays. That said he's an elite recruiter.

Most of these other programs haven't had the amount of BS that Tennessee has made for themselves in the last decade. We're an unstable program with a history of inept administration and heavy booster interference. I like Pruitt but he's an unproven coach. All of that rolled in together makes Tennessee a less attractive job than some other places. None of that is necessarily Pruitt's fault. What would be his fault is hiring the wrong guy for the OC job. You make the best guys say no first.

It wasn't a knock on our current wr coach. I was just thinking of a spot that would work for Tee. I don't feel comfortable with him as oc. But if he had the co-oc title to satisfy his ego and put him in a position role where he could be effective and go recruit, then it would be nice to have him back in Knoxville.
Not sure about his coaching abilities. I am sure that if we have "to satisfy his ego" we don't need him.

Hey Coach, just hire somebody. Anybody. :(
If you were the CEO of a Fortune 500 company, who you want to make as absolutely sure as possible you were hiring the right guy to be your CFO or COO? Someone you actually meshed with and had the same vision as you.
And yes.......CJP should have an issue with control. He runs the program and his butt is on the line! I love the fact he's waiting until he finds what he wants and doesn't give a tiny rats arse what VN thinks.
This all day!!!! We are not hiring someone to flip burgers at the local McDonald's. This program has been a dumpster fire for years now so why just hire someone for the he!! of it. Take the time to get the best person possible and lets get back to winning

Who is going to hire Tee as an OC? I’d think his next gig is most likely as a position coach

I think a lot of these guys are happier with whining than winning.

He’s a new head coach that wants to stay in control. I think this is the problem. Getting an OC to come in who can’t bring his people eliminates many takers.

Briles took two GA’s to FSU.

I never accused him of being egotistical. But I also don't think that having confidence and high expectations of yourself is a bad thing.
