You think WV is wondering who the QB is going to be also? I hope so and so does the whole Tenn. Staff!

If the two options were Dan Marino or Vince Young it might make a difference but neither of these two QBs are going to scare anyone running the ball

When I hear it’s Chrysts job to lose by default I know that’s a load of horse crap. That basically implies Pruitt told him before he chose his transfer destination that he would be the starting QB. I don’t think he’s that dumb enough to say that;quickest way to lose a locker room plus college kids don’t hold secrets long enough. Phillip Fulmer would never allow that to happen
No. It basically means that he's a guy who understands how to run an offense but has physical limitations whereas JG is a guy with tremendous physical gifts who cannot master decision making and the mental aspects of the game. You bring KC in hoping by some means and motivation to get JG to come along... and believing that KC can handle the job for a year if he doesn't.

It isn't a "hateful" attack on JG. He has just struggled with the non-physical aspects of being a college QB. It could be related to effort, maturity, or ability or some combination. But he failed to win the job last year not because he did throw better than QD but because he was behind mentally. Now he has a new system to learn which is either a reset or else a setback for him.

Way too harsh imo. JG may have frustrated you at times last year, but he was what he was- a freshman behind an awful o-line in a screwy offense. Josh Dobbs just hid the ineptness with his feet for a couple of years.
Redshirt fresh. KC is poised, JG not so much so. Maybe he's developed a little more, but probably not enough yet

It amazes me that some posters will still believe this year's team will win 8 or 9 games after reading this. The team will have to fight just to get 6 wins.

I wish QD would've stayed
QD would quit .. I blame him for JJ injury . He would put the ball in a bad spot and get our wide outs hurt. Plus he Quit.

WV will take the time to scheme two QB`s regardless of their talent. It takes up time and one could look at that as an advantage even if its small.

Larry is legit. Guy has been dropping info about as long as I've been on VN. He isn't an ecred guy. I trust Swain too but in this case, he is admittedly going off of what he sees which means he is not seeing scrimmage reps or game situation reps.
Incorrect. As a former player, Swain gets access to practice and scrimmages that the media doesn’t. When the media is told to leave after the early warmup period, Swain and any other former player is allowed to hang around and watch whatever he wants. And, in addition to seeing with his own eyes whenever he wants, he also has sources within the program. He’s called several shots in recruiting and other areas well before they’ve taken place. So, yes, Swain at this point is very well likely a better source for information than LWS who has admittedly stepped a good bit away from the program over the last few years.

This. LWS is a legend but he’s admitted to not being as involved as he used to be.

If we're a 5 win team, Quinten Dormady would have done absolutely f*** all to change that. QB isn't some difference maker like it is in the NFL. All you need in this league to get to 7-8 wins is a guy that doesn't give the ball to the other team and moves the chains, if the rest of the team isn't a disaster. We have a lot of potential in a lot of other areas on the team so less than 6 wins would show me we have some deficiencies in our coaching staff. At which point Pruitt needs to fix them and for good. And if he fails to do that then we'll be looking again for another head coach in a few years.

There's a lot more to it than that. For starters, you need a defense that don't give up 600 yards of rushing a game and an o line

JG has been on this team for three years and nobody has ever mentioned him as a leader of men and he’s had very few bright moments. Only way he’s our starter is if they hand it to him and I don’t see this staff doing anything close to that.

Low threshold of praise. This is a place for fan’s opinions...KNOWING more doesn’t take much.
For sure. You and I have both been on here a few years. We have certainly seen our share of would be insiders. That being said you know LWS is as close to being a insider as we have on here.😁

Still seems 50/50, and my prediction is it will still be that way at the end of November unless one of them or both is/are removed from the equation altogether.

It is hateful because you have no justification for this.

How do you figure the less accurate guy who has a worse quarterback rating while having more years playing is some way great at the mental aspects but the better qb is not?
