Today's scrimmage

I'll believe Swain over a supposed insider especially after the last few coaching searches. After them I don't believe in any insiders

Larry is legit. Guy has been dropping info about as long as I've been on VN. He isn't an ecred guy. I trust Swain too but in this case, he is admittedly going off of what he sees which means he is not seeing scrimmage reps or game situation reps.

LWSVol who at one time was the "gold standard" of insiders... a booster/alum with connections in UTAD.... said we should ignore the media. He said that his info was not "opinion". Unfortunately, he said it was more a matter of JG not getting it done than KC taking it away.

JG could spend a year straight learning under Peyton Manning and still not become a game winning QB.

No resolve or moxie...

I said this months ago.
Let's hope Chryst can manage the game. Maybe we can pull out some close wins.

It takes a while to develop a quick release and accuracy suffers during the transition. Need to see if they bring SEC pressure. KC might play better off the bench. Maybe not so much the other guy.
I expect to see both and maybe Shrout against WV.

Way too harsh imo. JG may have frustrated you at times last year, but he was what he was- a freshman behind an awful o-line in a screwy offense. Josh Dobbs just hid the ineptness with his feet for a couple of years.

If we supposedly will have an offense similar to what Alabubba runs, it doesn’t take a great QB. It takes a QB that doesn’t get you beat. They don’t turn out great QB’s.

That's your choice. But LWS was an insider long before Swain signed to play with UT. You can check him out. He generally doesn't say anything unless he has heard it from a reliable source. His sources usually have firsthand access to the info they provide.

I'm not aware of any inside track given to Swain for info in part because he makes his living talking about things on the radio. That's not the guy you share discreet info with.
Swain still gets access to parts of practice that normal media does not. Plus LWS has said before that he used to know more than he does now. He's not as plugged in anymore

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't one of LWS's sources our AD, Philip Fulmer?

When Pruitt’s only real compliment of the 4 QB’s was Shrout having arm talent and the game is slowing down for him...that’s pretty telling, imo...

Not saying he will start, because he won’t, but him getting reps in a scrimmage 2 weeks from the season opener tells me no one has taken the job and ran with it...

This is the most accurate statement I've seen on VN in a long time!

Guys/Gals set egos aside. Let's root for the Vols and the best QB they can put on the field. Seems like some on here want people to succeed/fail just so they can say they were right.

i beleive he was, yes. not sure how much of a source he is now since he is the AD??? i guess that depends on how close the two really are, in which case if they're really close, i don't know that Larry would start leaking things here.

Wow you know what you’ve completely changed my mind about the outcome I think TN is gonna have this year. My lord Pruitt is not going to pump sunshine up y’all a**. What insider knowledge does he have more than what wes rucker or Ryan Callahan has? All of the 247 staff are saying JG is having a great camp. Some of you guys are so unwilling to take wSa bit of optimism or positive news and twist it so far negative it’s sickening. Idk if TN will win 8 games this year but I don’t think they are that bad to where they will have to be scratching and clawing to get to 6 wins
Those guys are also looking for clicks, whereas LWS is just passing along what he knows.

I respectfully disagree. Looking at the schedule it's hard to find 6 wins. We could be a significantly better team and still just win 5. A 10 point loss to Bama is an improvement, but still a loss. I think the lines are just too thin to be a solid team this year

Fulmer’s the AD. Seriously think he’s blabbing to his buddy about the starting QB spot? If Larry’s truly his buddy, he doesn’t even ask. And if this is Fulmer’s new modus operandi, I’ll reissue what I posted about Pruitt and staff if they actually promised Chryst the starting spot without a competition...we hired the wrong guys!

I'm still amazed at how few leaks there are. By this time last year, we would have know who did what and who else got added to the walking wounded.
Signs of a tightly ran ship.
Close to the vest ? Taped and glued are more like it. I can see somewhat of an edge by keeping info from your opponent but this isn't good for us die-hard Vol fans who are dying to know everything.

It amazes me that some posters will still believe this year's team will win 8 or 9 games after reading this. The team will have to fight just to get 6 wins.

I wish QD would've stayed

I'm not so sure QD was as good or better than KC or JG at this point in time
I think most Vol fans deep down realize that becoming bowl eligible will be a favorable start to the Pruitt era.
I always hope and strive for a season that's better than kissing your sister, however

Go Vols

When I hear it’s Chrysts job to lose by default I know that’s a load of horse crap. That basically implies Pruitt told him before he chose his transfer destination that he would be the starting QB. I don’t think he’s that dumb enough to say that;quickest way to lose a locker room plus college kids don’t hold secrets long enough. Phillip Fulmer would never allow that to happen
