Sigh...
Do you people even listen to what you're saying sometimes? The guy that was tackled as he walking away was the who escalated the situation...
How are they both not being charged when both are considered open cases?
I don't have an opinion....that's horrible and could not imagine
Edit: based on his fashion faux pas and his singing ability maybe he did deserve the unnecessary roughness. 15 yrd penalty on blue, automatic first down.
So.... since no one will ask the question, I will. If it was illegal, how did the attorney get away with it? How did the judge get away with it? Both are clearly guilty, and the last story I posted is strangely similar, the only detail that is different is the guilty party doesn't work for the state.
Now, before any of you start hollering about compassion for the families. It's not about compassion, it is about justice being equal to all. Isn't that what most of you preach here? Horrific incidents all, but the treatment was very different.
For the record, it appeared the guy was turning to leave to me as well. It would've helped if we knew the layout of the restaurant.A couple of last thoughts then I'll move on. You guys are assuming I think there should be no punishment if the guy has broken a trespass. That's not at all what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that violence should only used by law enforcement when there's really no other option. We were no where near that point in this situation.
Though I do believe the guy had turned to walk away, I'll admit that I can't say with certainty that it was the case. Either way I get the impression the justification for the take down was based on the guy touching the officer first. That's simply not the case.
I can't disagree about the singing. It was down right horrible.

Interesting thing though, the two chaps that approach the man were obviously security. If you have security, why involve the cops?

I'm guessing it's a trespassing issue. He's probably been told to stay off the property before and warned of what would happen if he returned.

61-Year-Old Man Violently Attacked by Police and Arrested for Singing a Beach Boys Song | The Free Thought Project
Yet another example of the police turning a non-violent situation into a violent one.
Not only did the officer not "throw the first punch", the guy was freakin walking away. When will they learn that cell phone cameras are ubiquitous and the "he started it" lie they were taught in the academy isn't gonna work anymore? Somebody needs to make a meme using the Maury picture that says... In the report you stated that the perp touched you first but the video you didn't know existed of the entire situation shows that was lie.
Cop should be fired immediately and then arrested and charged with assault. The two guards should be charged with at least making false statements if not obstruction of justice. Also, once fired, the cop should be on the hook for the civil suit instead of the tax payers.

I'd also like to take a moment to point out how much I hate the media in this country. I was looking a little further into this and here's a few of the headlines...
Shocking moment... police tackle man to ground for singing Beach Boys songs.
Pennsylvania police brutalize man for singing.
Cops body slam elderly man for singing Beach Boys in public.
What lie?
