Man... I hope you're right. This fan base needs* a double digit wins season followed by something like a Sugar Bowl. That would certainly hit the spot.
*I obviously use the word need loosely as people really don't "need" anything in regards to sports but you guys know what I mean.
What did this cop have to gain by bothering this guy? He should have just left and moved on...

You guys are probably gonna be shocked but this is one of those times where the cop wasn't the douche bag. That guy was trying so hard to escalate the situation. Good on the cop for not biting. I also think it's funny how badly he was shaking.
He spent 5 minutes getting tongue lashed when no crime had been committed.
Just walk back to the squad car and move along. The longer he stands there, the more the guy is gonna push his buttons and make him do something he'll regret.
Do they not teach cops conflict resolution or do they want to just engage every trivial incident they encounter? Obviously, there was nothing to gain by fooling around with this guy, so just leave.
Nobody said it was illegal to have a gun in your driveway...... Possibly having one in your driveway with your hand in your pocket and confronting a cop is dumb as hell...,
Yeah... I mean it couldn't be more obvious that the LEO saw no threat in the situation. In fact, I'm still saying that I'd be more concerned with how he handled it if he actually did see potential treat. But it's so insanely clear that he didn't. Like ridiculously clear. He just wanted to, for whatever reason, pull his gun out and intimidate the guy.
How some of you guys can't see that is baffling to me. I guess when you lick cop's boots unstop, it can often get in the way of your view of reality.
He didn't confront the cop... the cop confronted him. Big difference in the 2. The cop is the one that got out of his car and walked on his driveway.
If one is being confronted then they are involved in a confrontation.....
confront
vb tr
1 usually foll by: with to present or face (with something), esp. in order to accuse or criticize
2 to face boldly; oppose in hostility
3 to be face to face with; be in front of
4 to bring together for comparison
Look at #3
Anyways, this points out yet another situation where a civilian makes a phone call against another civilian over what appears to be a very trivial matter. We can't fight the cops and other petty/whiny civilians at the same time. The police state feeds off of anonymous tips, tattle tails, and wanna-be heroes.
I hold most of our citizens just as responsible as some of these cops when it comes to these matters because they elect and/or empower the people that create the petty laws that these cops are so willing to enforce.
There's obviously more to the story than just the brief video clip. Why was the guy just randomly standing out in his driveway filming? My guess is there's been numerous calls made on this guy for being a sh***y neighbor or he has one that calls the cops on him on a regular basis.
And not one assumption regarding the cop on your part.
It didn't get nasty until he refused to pull his hand out of his pocket. I'm not saying the cop wasn't an a-hole, but had the guy simply said "afternoon officer can I help you with something" instead of being a jive turkey this wouldn't have been an issue..... Just as it wouldn't have if the guy would have taken his hand out of his pocket or if the cop didn't pull his gun.
