How do you like having a great portion of your productivity stolen before you even cash your check?
As a business owner, how do you like all the regulations that gov has installed to regulate your activity? When most agree all the regulations really achieve is to keep the little guy from competing with the monopolies that having government allows.
How do you like the fact that you do not have the freedom of voluntary association?
Want me to go on?....

1. I don't like that very much but even under ancap I would be paying someone for defense, road maintenance, infrastructure ext. so there wouldn't be much difference there. Except now I do get a vote, ancap I would be held at the end of a barrel and have no choices.

2. I hate most all of the regulations but a huge part of my business is due to regulation. So it's a catch 22 for me. All ancap would allow me to do would be to murder my competition in pursuit of my monopoly instead of having to compete.

3. I do have the freedom of voluntary association. I can choose to associate, hire, fire, do business with whomever I choose. I just can't run my mouth as to why.

I'm breathing, own several guns, my own house, beautiful wife, two healthy boys, living in a nice subdivision next to a great school for my kids, get to hunt regularly, two cars, good career, never had any run in's with the law, never had any government assistance.. So pretty damn good to be honest.

I don't come from a privileged background either. Grew up in a trailer park in Mt Carmel tn. Single mother for the first few years of my life and a dad who was a birthday card in the mail. So don't give me that "well you just had it easy" crap.

I don't agree with the size of our government. But, to insist that life isn't good here is blasphemy. We're not ruled over... We're governed. Isn't Iceland an anarchist community? If that's what you really want them why not make the move?

This. For the most part, people whining about our form of government are just trying to pick the fly shat out of the pepper.

1. You're actually thinking of the current system in which you have 0 choice. If I had to explain how defense and roads and others such things that are so complex that no private individuals could possibly figure out how to provide these services would work in AnCapistan I'd say, it would be much like the insurance that you're already paying now. About your vote? Do you really think it counts? C'mon Hogg.

2. Didn't we already discuss that there would be laws in AnCapistan? You know, like don't kill, or damage property, else you'll face an arbitrator.

3. If you have the freedom of voluntary association, don't pay your taxes, see what happens.

Blasphemy? Really? No, Iceland isn't anarchist. Please watch this, if you have the time.

About your "why don't you move" comment, I suggest you take a look at the expatriation laws on the books. You're not exactly free to leave.
Sorry.. Iceland has an anarchist movement.

And as for moving. Seems pretty simple to me.
"Since 1990, the Department of State policy based on these laws and court rulings has been to revoke an individual’s citizenship if and only if an individual appears in person at a U.S. embassy or consulate abroad and explicitly declares his intention to renounce citizenship."

1. I have choice under the current system. I can move, may cost me so money but why wouldn't it be the same under ancap? All I see under ancap is a waring feudal system disguised as common defense, lords didn't let their peasants just up and leave. And yes my vote counts at the local level and House level, that is why we need to fully repeal the 17th amendment. Under ancap, the highest bidder or the most well armed will be the ones with ALL the say.

2. The laws would only apply to the people subjugated by your protection agency. The rich will dictate what the protection agency enforces, so not any different than what we have now.

3. Taxes are not part of free association.

There is no such thing as a good cop, there are however, good people in a terrible vocation. I salute this guy, who is still an extortionist in my mind, because police are funded by tax dollars, and taxation is theft. But, he seems to be a good guy. Major kudos for putting himself out there like that.

I found the part extremely funny where the two "security" forces wouldn't fight bc it would cost too much money or death....Why would they not be willing to fight if offered enough money?

Because fighting wars gets very expensive. It's also bad for business. Any protection agency that constantly fought with others would be socially ostracized and go out of buisness rather quickly.

Not if they destroyed their competition and absorbed their subjects.

Wars? the guy used the example of four people versus four people....How expensive is it to kill four people? After victory you are able to take that person's assets which adds to your wealth.

Do you ever buy from Amazon? Do you look up reviews of items you'd like to purchase? Reputation would be critical in a anarchist society. I know that seems simple, but the market has a way of dealing with folks who don't honor contracts and do as they please.

How long do you honestly think that will last?
Once the public, who are paying these guys, catches wind of their practices, they'd be done.

Tyranny trumps customer conscious. So it would last until someone bigger and badder destroyed them.

The "public" would be subject to the demands of the armed.

Maybe but wouldn't the rich people be able to own avenues to create their own propaganda to make people believe what they want them too.
