To Protect and to Serve...

You continue to try to point out how the actions of the woman helped to lead to the resulting arrest. Sure, you clearly state (on one hand) that it should have never gotten that far, but (on the other hand) point out that the woman was belligerent... which is not even relevant (or true) and she was well within her rights to not give her name.

So point out exactly where I said the arrest was justified.

Either point it out in a quote or admit you were wrong.

Yes, the woman was belligerent and didn't help matters by going off like she did. Even you said that. Now obviously, I won't use the disparaging terms you use like "screeching hood rat" or whatever, but yes, she entered that situation in an escalated mode which was not helping rectify the situation.

Now, say the words "I was wrong GV and I apologize for jumping to conclusions yet again."

We do.. It's called "diversion" and it's being enforced heavily by the DEA and many local DTF's. It's on the news all the time.

The problem is that Doctors and the profession in general tends to protect their own. Much like attorney's. Most cops are not Doctors and most cases require a Doctor to provide the technical information in order to obtain probable cause. Also, medicine, depending on whom you speak to, is not an exact science. Everyone has seen or heard of an incident where someone went to 3 different doctors and obtained 3 different courses of action.

Irony.

Well, might as well change this thread's name to 'GV Officially Hates Ras'.

I don't hate him. I really pity him actually.

It's really hard for me to understand how someone has a good opportunity to learn from someone in the profession they hate so much, yet refuses to listen to any attempt at a rational explanation.

I really do feel sorry for him.

Someone clear doesn't understand English...

I don't agree with a lot of things you say, but you're at least trying to provide explanations for why things are done as they are. I can't abide Tim, though.

Fine, go find a DA willing to prosecute those cases.

It shouldn't matter what the DA does. Remember, you are "duty bound" by the law... you have to enforce all laws, remember?

I'm trying to pass the buck? Really? You think I would continue to attempt to defend any actions and be subjected to the idiocy that is rampant in this thread if I thought I was passing the buck?

There are two sides to this coin. You either ignore the greater problem (the politicians) and continue the ignorance of blaming LE on everything wrong. Or you see the greater problem is the fact the powers that LE have are derived from politicians. And by proxy, the people in the end. And if the people aren't demanding answers or reform from the politicians, what will change?

Exactly nothing. So you think I'm passing the buck onto the politicians? The buck stops right at the people my friend. The people that continue to elect those same politicians and judges that reduce their Constitutional Rights. The people allow their elected officials that in turn allow the local LE to get away with some of the things they do. You think I'm passing the buck? You're just as guilty as you think I am in the end. I'm a child? You're also a child that allows it to happen in the first place by continuing to elect officials and judges that perpetuate the problem.

Next you'll say I'm complicit with the behavior since I must agree with it. And like it or not, LE are duty bound to enforce the law. And the vast majority do so justly and without incident. Does that make me agree with a vast many things that go on? No. I really don't like a lot of the laws on the books today. Unfortunately, when I signed up I took the good with the bad. And as each situation was different, my response to each situation was different. And I do know an illegal order or law and when not to enforce it. Sadly the perception around here is all LE are little more than jack booted thugs waiting to stomp on the necks of the citizen and tear away their Rights. And nothing could be further from the truth.

So you just sit there and blame the sword for the hand that wields it and continue to be blind to the greater problem. Sure LE has the discretion to warn for minor violations of the law as you pointed out. Minor violations only. The way you make it sound is LE can just let someone go if they have ten kilos of coke in their trunk. Because "they probably won't do anyone harm here." And you know what that kind of attitude gets them? A pink slip as a minimum. Jail time if someone wanted to press the matter. They cannot pick and choose what laws they want to enforce even as archaic as some truly are. If the public demands they enforce the right of way for a horse and buggy, LE has no choice in the matter. Now for the most part the laws that are still on the books that are overtaken by modern events are not enforced. Mainly because it's ignorant to do so. When you were an officer, you had no control over violations of the UCMJ you could let slip if someone wanted to press the matter. Dereliction of duty for example. Like it or not, archaic or not, it was still the law and you were duty bound to correct instances if brought to your attention. Now you could use your own authority to warn or correct the behavior. But you also had the authority and duty to bring it to a higher level if the instance was severe enough.

And this made you different from LE how?

So what am I to say when a person who is "duty bound" by the law chooses to go after a certain group of drug peddlers with zeal, but allows another group of dealers that are just as dangerous (if not worse) to live in harmony because the DA might capitulate?

Whatever. You're even more clueless than Ras. Why is it you can't even level an argument with me without resorting to the "you're just a typical dumb cop" tactic.

Why on god's earth would I present an argument when you're doing such a fabulous job of making yourself look foolish on your own?

Not to mention that discussing anything with you people is like playing chess with my three year old. I make a move and then you guys just smash the board and knock half the pieces in the floor and then parade around as if you've won the game.

I like Messy better.

Unless you're one of those OCD types that uses a ruler to measure the distance between your gnomes on the curio shelf.

I used to do my best to avoid stepping on cracks in the sidewalk, for fear of my mother's health. That's about it. Even if I ever had ocd, my 20s wrecked my brain so hard I probably couldn't even have it anymore.

Sorry, I was trying out my Russian skills on Pravda links.

However, admitting you were wrong does not come with a "but" during the sentence.

See how simple that is?

Perfect example of what I was talking about before...

You respond with jokes everytime you are backed into a corner. Its getting old.

When you are backed into a corner on your LEO duties, do you get sarcastic with the citizen (seatbelt violation or other trumped up charges), or do you give the citizen their due recognition and let them go?

You are the type of person that has to have the last word, so you would probably try to prove your point and arrest them on a bogus charge, imo.

Lol at me looking foolish. You are the one that loves to jump to the most absurdly extreme cases you can and implicates an entire profession based on the actions of the few.

You could do better than the chess analogy too. Seems like any time a question you or people like Ras can't answer you immediately fall back on Ferguson or New York or Charleston and quit the game with a smug look like you've achieved checkmate using an Uno deck.

I don't know how some of you live. You must be so scared to leave the house.

Geeezzzzz

Which fear is more reasonable in America: having an altercation with a bad cop or having an altercation with a Muslim terrorist?

There seems to be a lot of whimpering and wagon circling in this forum regarding a threat less likely to endanger you than a lightning strike. So I actually find your point to be particularly fascinating, though probably not in the way you intended.

So the cops are responsible for prosecution? And furthermore, at the present time, parents over medicating their children isn't illegal.

But it still doesn't answer the base question I asked. Why is it none of the accidental deaths in hospitals are ever investigated, yet any death by a cop is?

Please quote one time where I've done that.

If also like to point out that the last two times I've tried to start legitimate discussion in this thread the questions I've asked have been blatently ignored.
