Page 2: Family of Toddler Injured by SWAT 'Grenade' Faces $1M in Medical Bills - ABC News

Is about to get really interesting. The SWAT's defense just came out and it's about what you'd expect.

Infants fault for being an infant and getting burned.

Parents fault for not treating him despite they were forcefully detained.

Parents are left on the hook for the $1,000,000+ medical bills. Great time to be an innocent and law-abiding American.

Parents should play ball with their kids and toss out the Nintendos. I didnt need a cop to toss a ball to me to respect the law or those who enforce it.

What you advocate for is respect and most LEO's dish it out, in spades. However what you perceive and what is reality seem to be miles apart. Basing opinions off of youtube videos is silliness. I guess we should flood YT with every single daily encounter where everyone parts happily.

What the **** do I care if a dozen cops are being polite to me if 1 is verbally abusing me, trying to trick me into admitting to something I didn't do, and when that fails, trying to get me to dime someone else out, when I don't know what's going on?

Am I supposed to say 'gee thanks guys, I wish your buddy was cool too'?

There are a lot more like that. They just don't make good news stories.

Virginia Mom Thanks Cop Who Helped Her Young Son with Flat Tire : People.com Mobile

This made a good news story. There are a lot of talking points about why it's borderline depressing why it made a good story. A cop helping a law-abiding citizen change a tire should not be a national story. But, here we are.

Again, I fully acknowledge that there are likely (statistically speaking, there have to be) more good cops than bad cops.

However, I have no tolerance for the bad cops out there. And there are obviously plenty of them. They abuse the responsibility and trust their position grants them and have little integrity. Those are facets you and I cannot possibly not see eye-eye on. If you have tolerance for people who abuse their power and show little integrity, well, we know what camp you fall in.

I do campaign heavily against those bad cops but I feel it should be constantly repeated that I'm not a "all cops are bad" or that I'm proposing a government with no laws and no police.

I'm just sickened by the wide berth many cops give themselves and the DAs that are in bed with them.

I never commented or gave an opinion on the mohammed cartoon so no hypocrisy there involving myself.

Well, just to get it out in the open so we can see if your views are consistent, would you say that..

The cop block guys try to instigate and create a story...

you could replace "cop block guys" with "Mohammed Cartoon Event Organizers" in this claim and it be accurate?

they record what they want you to see and edit out the parts that make the cop look like they are doing the right thing....Its a bunch of bogus BS and takes away from real problems with police and the public they deal with. Im not advocating for the cop block guys to get their a&& whipped but its like a friend I had years ago. He was very loud mouthed and ran it all the time, He finally ran into someone that beat his a&& over it and I sat back and laughed bc he brought it all on himself. These guys at cop block are the exact same way.

I also assume you aren't advocating the cartoon clowns to get shot at, but they also brought that attack all on themselves. Right? Or would it only have been a laughing matter to you if the extremists went and whipped some people's asses instead of shot at them?

So go on then, if you say you aren't a hypocrite, prove it and tell us your opinion on that incident. This should be good.

Its not a coincidence that the cop block guy didn't video his behavior that led to the arrest. You are taking the cop block guys word for it that it started with him just casually driving by and flipping a single bird. You must be very gullible today.

As opposed to you, who will believe anything the police tell you, because obviously the police would never lie in order to make their extreme behavior look justified. Oh, wait.. and I'm the gullible one.

I'm curious as to what you believe could have transpired outside of the cop block guy assaulting the police or brandishing a weapon at civilians to warrant that type of response. Tell me what crime he committed to be treated in that way. Until you can do that, you're just spouting the same sycophant BS you've always posted in this thread.

So their point is proven? With millions of prepubescent kids running around with cameras in their little hands doing childish things and this is the best they got? What about the other 999,999 videos where nothing happens? The odds are literally astronomical. If this is what you point to as success in proving your infantile point then maybe you should borrow 2 bucks from your mommie and play the lottery. Just observing some comments on here and some of the actions of the "cop blockers" I think it would be wise to introduce proper parenting skills in schools.

If their point was that some cops are abusive, violent, and have no self control, they surely proved it. What's worse, Tim? The immature action of tossing someone the bird or the violent action of beating the **** out of someone for giving you the bird? If a civilian gives another civilian the bird and he beats the **** out of the bird giver, the guy on the delivering end can be charged with assault, and "he instigated with the finger" isn't going to save him like you think it saves the police.

So please, continue going down this path of "he brought it onto himself" because I can easily expose how you feel that way only when it helps your argument, and that your principles are as flimsy as your attempt to derail the argument, talking about mommies and parenting skills. And you call them infantile while you act like a baby in the very same paragraph.

Good job, Tim.

This made a good news story.

Here's another one that proper procedures were followed:

'Austin Powers' Star Records Taser Incident at LAX

I'll be honest, that guy got way more chances that he rightly deserved. And things like this do toss a monkey wrench into the theory that all cops have am itchy trigger finger.

Good news story? Sure since a potential tragedy was averted with minimal force.

ETA: If one was to watch just the clip from Fox, it would seem the cops jumped the gun in that situation. However, when you play the YouTube clip that shows the entire story as it unfolds, you can see they are more than justified in deploying the Taser.

I didn't comment on the Muhammad shooting bc I feel the cartoon organizers were idiots bc there is no reason to have a contest like that unless you are intentionally trying to start something. At the same time, I'm not a big fan of the Islam religion so it's a wash in my eyes. The shooting was way over the top and I do not find it justified in any way.

As for my feelings on the police, I tend to favor the guys without the long criminal records. All I'm saying is wait till all the evidence comes out. Most come to their opinion based off the word of the alleged victim or idiots like cop block.

Naw, you're as polite as can be to me. But when your buddy goes straight up thug you stand there with this embarassed look on your face.

Nor do they need to. Cops do not replace parents. I have no issue with this, or any, Leo playing ball with kids. I feel like pointing to this and saying this is how you rebuild trust and respect is nonsense. People believe and see what they want to see. Cops buying boots for homeless or hooping with kids will make zero difference.

Feel free to keep making excuses for poorly raised children. I personally do not care for the cop or the kid in the video, but please continue with your belief that it proves some kind of point that I feel like the kid should've been raised better.
