I was content to leave this one alone, but why, oh why, do people feel the need?
"Good number" is pretty ambiguous. Want to slap a percentage on that or just make up numbers?
And FTR since I have been identified, I wouldn't ever compare US laws to German laws when it comes to certain things. DUI especially. While their public intox laws may be far more lenient, their DUI laws are far more draconian. As is the ability to alcohol test you up to two hours after a traffic accident no matter how minor it is. You get in a fender bender and go home and have a beer? Even though you were sober at the time of the accident, you can turn around and get charged with DUI up to two hours after.
There's also a municipal code that says you can't swear the the police in one district. 250 Euro fine for doing so.
And on the subject of DUIs in Germany, how about those fines? Or the mental coordination test you have to do afterwards? Or the fact that even trace amounts in those under 21 will get your license revoked?
I wouldn't compare German cops to US cops at all personally.
