I raise my kids to be especially wary of cops. And to place their trust in individuals that have earned it, not individuals that managed to get a uniform or title.

Better than you at least. For one, they don't go running their mouth trying to instigate crap to prove their point.

Don't worry, someday you'll finally tell us about how Officer X touched you in that special place and made you feel uncomfortable.

I was raised to respect everyone until they prove otherwise. I was also raised to use my brain and not blame others for my misstakes too. Im not a skeptic, conspiracy theorist, or otherwise by nature.

Page 5 of the contract in the fine print.

You won't ever hear me say there are those that don't do that and are looking for a rise out of people. Certainly there are those that are overzealous in their duties and need to be reigned in a bit. I did my best to teach the younger cats that not everyone needs a ticket and sometimes a verbal warning will do. It's something that passed with age and experience for the most part.

But at the same time, most of them tend to be polite and courteous. I know your feelings, so we won't go down that path. But I'd guess at least some of your personal interactions have been reasonable for the most part even though you harbor some feelings of resentment towards the profession.

Respect the cops all you want. Just understand that no matter how much respect and politeness you show to them, they won't respect you back.

They'll hide behind a dumpster while you go "speeding" by and then pull you over. They might lecture you. They might scream at you. They might threaten you. If you video tape them, they might destroy your phone. They might manufacture probable cause to search your car if you happen to look like dink. The one thing they will never do at a stop, is show you respect. They might be courteous, they might be lenient, they might be forgiving, but do not mistake that for them respecting you.

Ridiculous.....just write the ticket and keep your lectures (verbal warning) to yourself because you arent qualified to teach someone a lesson.

Just glad I dont look like Dink....maybe thats why I have never had a problem.

As long as police view themselves as authorities over civilians, it will be impossible for them to truly respect citizens. They can be nice and forgiving, but it will always be in a way in which they (the officers) are the ones bestowing us citizens with their graciousness. Rather than them doing the same thing out of reverence or love.

Oh they run their mouths all the time. It is a strength of theirs.

I've had my run ins with these below average intelligence taxpayer funded leeches on multiple occasions. I've not been murdeded yet, so I guess I should consider myself fortunate.

They chose that profession. Thus, the reason has been given to not give them my trust and to in fact be very skeptical of them.

Give some examples of what u did and how u behaved.....I have had between 20-30 interactions with cops and never had any issues besides one being a little bit of a d&ck
