You're not exactly helping your cause when comparing LEO to the EPA. I'm also pretty sure Hog hates the EPA too.

It's all about control.

What's sickening is that in most of these seizure cases LEO knows full well drugs are not involved but do it anyway, why? They know in most cases it will cost the victim as much if not more to recover the stolen property than it's worth.

And I hope you understand I'm not taking the LEO side of this, because unless the person has a hundred keys of nose candy or a nuclear weapon readily visible in the back seat then the whole stop and search items during routine traffic stops is unwarranted.

The 4th Amendment has been twisted into something very perverse over these federal seizure laws and I don't agree with many of them. Because the burden of proof shouldn't be on the violator to prove where they came into $50,000 or whatnot. Having said that to say this, it's not entirely on the LEO in these cases since there are plenty of City/County commissioners, mayors, councilmen, etc that obviously turn a blind eye when the cops are raking in that kind of money. They very well could put an end to it as well.
