No, that you're an overly sensitive butthurt wimp that can't take the slightest criticism from the unwashed masses when it comes to your chosen profession of shooting dogs and illegally raiding houses.

Lately I've attempted to stay away from this as well as other "I hate cops" threads. However, decided this one was worth speaking my mind.

You still have yet to provide the further facts of what happened. You are going to follow up to make me admit I was wrong in public, right?

And not trying to pile on GV. I wanna be cool with you, so I feel I need to speak my mind that you should cool it with the personal attacks.

Funny, when did I ever turn personal on you? I mean, if I knew you were that sensitive, perhaps I might have been a bit more easy going. But I don't ever recall getting insulting or personal with you from the few times I'd seen you browse through here before. You asked a question once, I answered it in a reasonable manner.

Lately, these discussions aren't discussions. You came in and immediately started in that fool thread about the woman from Craigslist. So you come at me like that, expect the same in return. Can't handle it? Grow some thicker skin. Don't like the fact that I tried to remain objective in this case before jumping to immediate outrage like others, yourself included? Don't post, pure and simple.

I don't mind the fact that you didn't come to the same conclusions I did. You were just doing it in an insulting defensive manner. If you look back at the cragslist thread, you'll likely see the same pattern of me saying something you disagree with and then you acting like a douche in response.

And I can flat guarantee you that you cannot track down all these "shill" posts about LEO. When they have it coming to them, I'm one of the first to agree. But I'm also not the kind of person that immediately jumps to conclusions like others when one bad cop makes the news and decides to lump each and every one of them in the same pile. Don't like it? I don't care.

You want respect and not to get your feelings hurt, try not coming at me like you did before.

I could give two wet shats if you respect me or not. Don't flatter yourself thinking that you have hurt my feelings in any way.

I'm jumping on the bandwagon. I can appreciate GV's opinions because he's put some intelligent thought in them, but he is way too threatened by differences of opinion and flies off the handle with insults and condescending speech. It gets pretty ridiculous.

Yeah, but I don't like you anyway :)

I'm pretty objective most of the time in a good majority of things on here. However, when my profession and more importantly, my intelligence and integrity is called into question, I tend to get a little nasty about things.

If you can accept the constructive criticism in return...

Don't be closed minded so much. You have your ideas and principles, but moving you off them is not easy to do. Kind of like your anarchist state thread a few weeks ago. You have to budge from time to time and see the big picture. Or do a little more digging before you jump to conclusions like the Craigslist thread.

And yes, I'm just as guilty of being stubborn as well. But nobody can ever say I haven't done my homework.

You're not a bad dude Huff. You've got some crazy ideas from time to time, but like I said before, you tend to stick to your principles. And I can accept that even when I don't agree.

Dude, get over yourself. Nobody gives a crap about you. You've got to be the most self righteous narccist on volnation.

You jumped in that thread knowing half the information and immediately started picking a side. And yes, I felt you came at me entirely wrong. And you obviously felt I did at you too.

And I'm pretty positive I won't lose sleep over this.

I've been called many things before, a narcissist isn't one of them.

You do realize that works both ways, right? So get over yourself as well. There's a log out button if you don't like what I'm saying or if the truth hurts.

Now I'll attempt to be civil, reasonable and even friendly from now on.

I would say that everyone is pretty closed off, so I know I am in some ways, but I would say I'm pretty open-minded. I've switched from Neoconservative to conservative to libertarian to anarcho-capitalist. Went from a minister to an inactive Christian to an agnostic. I'm pretty open to challenging my pre-conceived notions.

I'm not saying I didn't close off to you in some way, I probably did. All I'm saying is keep making your arguments, they're not falling on deaf ears.

Nah, I can't do that now, nobody likes me...

Okay, I'm over that.

You're still young and changing your beliefs and your points of view is expected and happens to everyone. I was full of all sorts of ideas when I was younger and anyone that says they haven't evolved their beliefs over time is lying.

Eventually you'll settle into a pattern and find you change less the older you get. And a lot more stubborn about those points you stand on.

Well, can't say that anymore. Glad I could add a feather in your cap.

And be friendly and civil all you want. I will not soon think of you as a reasonable person. Doesn't mean I won't be civil with you, btw.

Intellectual and spiritual development shouldn't atrophy just because the number of candles on your cake increases. You must not have ever read "Siddhartha".

Yeah, mark that one off on your bucket list...

Glad you took the offered handshake there. So I can expect more of your ignorant posts in the future and jumping into conversations with half the facts?

Looking forward to it.

There you go, being civil like a boss.

Hey, I'm not going to offer the olive branch to have you burn it in return. I said I was willing to be polite and civil, but you couldn't help yourself by saying "I won't ever think of you as reasonable."

I am a reasonable person. More so than you'll admit.

So we can end this now or keep going.

No, I'm saying the exact opposite.

I misunderstood your post. My apologies.

I don't know a lot of people that change drastically when they get to a certain point in life though. Gradual minor changes over years, maybe, but not like you do when you're young.

I didn't say "ever", I said "soon". My perception of you might change the more posts I see, but it probably won't be soon.

Deputy Sheriff William Thomas Bishop, Fayette County Sheriff's Department, Tennessee

Deputy Jailer William Bishop was shot and killed while escorting two prisoners to a local dentist office.

While the inmates were being examined by the dentist, one of them pulled out a small handgun he had concealed and forced the dentist to call the deputy into the room. Deputy Bishop was shot once in the back and as he was laying on the floor. Then he was then shot again in the head and killed.

The killer was caught a short time later after a brief chase. He was convicted of the deputy's murder and sentenced to death in November 1998.

This is my cousin. My grandmothers first grandchild.

Btw the article is inaccurate to the details.

There was one inmate. And his gf went in the day before and placed a weapons under the mattress of the dentist operating room.

The perp was going to take the dentist's secretary as a hostage. Tommy said no. Take me. He did. Then he killed tommy.

The perp ran for a bit. Stole the dentists jeep. The dog catcher finally pinned him down in a cotton field. (Stuck).

The perp was returned to jail in Fayette county where in mates almost beat him to death. He was then transported to Scott county.

The inmates loved my cousin. He allowed them to have loved ones bring food from home. Instead of jail food.

There are good cops and ****ty cops.

Semantics Sam, you'll be looking to jump at the first time you perceive me to be unreasonable. You and I both know it.

I really am a reasonable guy, others can tell you.

This post is so full of fail I don't even know where to begin...

I'm so glad we pushed the reset button to actually discuss this in a rational manner. Seeing as you just can't live up to your end of the bargain, he's my retort.

It's people like you and Tourjours Pret and Sam that cause more problems with cops than they do with you. You're so blinded by your prejudice that you don't have the first clue what you are doing is far more damaging than doing nothing. Because as soon as one of the overwhelming majority of good cops gets on scene, people like you act like impudent douchbags and cause way more harm than good for someone trying to do a tough job. And the so called "divide" between LEO and citizens is made that much greater because you can't help yourself by acting like each and every cop wants nothing more than to go Rodney King on you. And those that are generally fair leave with a bad taste in their mouth because morons like you case trouble. I certainly won't ever deny there are bad cops out there. But unfortunately you won't ever admit that what you are doing is just as wrong as what bad cops do.

What I'm doing? People like me cause more trouble? Hey arsehole, I'm 33 years old, married with two daughters, a post-graduate degree and a house. Who the ***** do you think you're talking to? Your son's high school dropout buddy with tattoos hanging out of his sleeves and a nose ring? I've never had a run-in with the police. Hell, I've never even had a traffic ticket.

But overall? You're a coward, plain and simple. You can't do this job because you aren't mature or man enough to do this job. Straight up truth. You'd rather hide behind a computer screen and rant about it instead of actually trying to make a difference by joining a force and stopping the bad cops out there. Or on the other hand, actually going up to a cop and saying your personal feelings right in their face. Nothing stopping you except for cowardice. But I also know that people like you are the first to run to cops when you get your ass handed to you in a fight and cry about it. You don't like cops until you really need one. So one of two things, STFU with your coward comments behind the safety of your computer screen or be a man and go up to a cop and tell them what's on your mind. Hell, you can even come out here and do it. Open invitation to my house to come discuss the matter in person.

Oh, I see. I'm the coward because I call people out on their sh*t behavior. I do it to all groups, not just the police. Moreover, I never felt the need to become a cop, although the job wouldn't be a problem for me. Trust me, I can take care of myself; so you can spare the cowardice bullsh*t. A low paying, thankless job with minimal requirements and union membership just doesn't float my boat. I simply want the Constitution followed and the government held accountable for everything they do.

You don't know me, you don't know what I've done or what I stand for. All you know is "cop" even though we are probably more alike politically and on Rights than you will ever admit. And you simply cannot get over your own ignorance to see that for every bad cop, there are dozens of good ones and some even great ones. And last, but certainly not least, don't ever call the cops when your kid goes missing or something happens to a family member or someone takes offense at you running your mouth. Because I wouldn't want you to give up your moral high ground by stooping so low as to actually ask for help.

It doesn't matter that "for every bad cop, there are dozens of good ones" because there shouldn't be a damn one. Bad employees get fired. Bad cops ruin lives.

Believe me, I've made it this far without the assistance of police. I think I'll be fine for the rest of my life. That's if you guys don't get the wrong address on the no-knock warrant for a burned out tail light. I'm sure my little pea shooting 357 SIG won't stand up to the armored personnel carrier, body armor, flash grenades, M4s, and MP5s.

Speaking of which, what is your job anyway? Or are you too embarrassed to say because your profession isn't perceived as honorable either?

Honorable is a subjective term here. You'd be surprised at the number of law abiding citizens who fear the police more than the average street trash. The police have the cover of authority... and the union. The Technological Revolution has given the average citizen unparalleled access into the actions of government. I'll let you in on a secret: they don't like what they see.

And since you asked, I head the credit department at a prime brokerage firm. I go through the balance sheets, establish the accounts, and approve the credit lines for the traders with other broker dealers and asset/fund managers. I do make an honest living, but I wouldn't call it honorable
