Also... I just told my wife I was, at least indirectly, being called a soft skinned hippie and she laughed her ass off. I'm betting that's the response you'd get from about 99% of the people that know me.

Not many news agencies have reported, or even wondered why she was asked to leave in the first place. As it turns out she had momentarily looked at her phone during class, and apologized for it at the time. Nor have they wondered why the phone issue, which she had already put away, escalated to an administrator and then the now fired school resource officer who had a reputation around the campus as "Officer Slam" for his tendency to throw students to the ground, assaulted her in the first place. They say she was "disruptive and disrespectful" but witnesses state that she was arguing that she'd done nothing wrong, which actually she hadn't. Before Slamster even approached the student he had another student move his desk and clear a path, then removed the Chromebook that was on her desk - so he planned from the moment he entered the room to assault her regardless of anything she did or didn't do.

The Truth about the Spring Valley "Officer Slam" Assault on a Teen Girl

Similar to a story I posted earlier this year about cops raiding a house poker game...

Fairfax SWAT team raids high stakes Great Falls poker game, seizes cash, terrifies players - The Washington Post

It was for the good of the community...

The regular player said the police told him, “The reason we’re here is there are Asian gangs targeting these games,” and it’s certainly true that some private gambling events in Fairfax County have been robbed by nefarious elements. The player said he wanted to respond, “So you robbed us first,” but he did not.

Target consenting adults gambling with their own money instead of targeting the "Asian gangs" robbing them.

Makes a lot of sense.

It's like I've been saying... One group was doing something illegal and the other wasn't. When you have your morality legislated to you, right and wrong cease to exist and become legal and illegal.

No idea. My comment was directed at segments of the population who think that anytime a cop stops them it must be race related and not that they are in fact morons.

Oh, you said "you" so I thought you were talking about us "cop haters".

Its a progressive liberal blog with sources that cant be verified and with a story that's not been reported any where else. It may be true but not a real reliable source.

How can you just make up stuff like this? Don't you know that I can easily fact-check your post?

Their source is the video at the bottom of the page. It was reported by MSNBC and you can see the live interview with the student making these points.

But go ahead and discredit it before doing any due diligence because you don't like their politics. That's totally "legit".

I apologize I quit reading before I got to the bottom....The daily Kos is just like MSNBC and fox they only tell things with a very slanted point of view....The only interview was of the other girl that got in trouble at the school.......Its typical of MSNBC just like their constant hands up don't shoot narrative that we heard for months.....Im not saying it didn't happen this way but does it seem impartial to you in any way shape or form?

Nothing is impartial. I don't trust MSNBC, but I have no reason to doubt this girl's account of the event and the officer's reputation as "Officer Slam". Show me a reason why I should? She stood up for what she thinks is right, got arrested, and you want to discredit her because she got in trouble for verbally standing up for what she thinks is right. I think you need something substantial to doubt her, not just a whim.

i just googled "Niya Kenny officer slam" and I am not finding anybody refuting her. I figure some would come forward and call BS if she is lying, considering how popular the officer seems to be.

This entrenched departmental detachment from human life and the consequences of excessive deadly force is evident through the shocking, despicable explanation told by Defendant Cruz to investigators after killing Dillon, according to the suit. Defendant Cruz stated he shot-to-kill because when he briefly made eye contact with Dillon, Defendant Cruz interpreted Dillon’s eyes as having a “defiant look.” Defendant Cruz stated:

Um, and his eyes were just complete 100% defiance. He had this, this look on his face like, you know, like I, ah, hate? Um, like he was, he was not going to do anything that I said. Um, and it was just a horrible feeling, um, looking at him. Having him, you know, just the, it was horrible. Just hate, defiance, that he had in his eyes.

This guy's been watching too much Zoo
