They had a 911 call that he had an AK47 and was threatening to shoot people....In this case, they most certainly had the right to act like they did and then determined he was innocent and let him go. The cop shouldn't have said he was going to shoot him in the face but every thing else seemed like what they were trained to do.
Then the training needs to change. I'm not willing to sacrifice my safety for that of law enforcement. I'm not saying they have no right to feel safe, but not at the expense of completely disregarding mine and yours.
Maybe start requiring more than an anonymous phone call to take someone's freedom and threatening to kill them while pointing a gun in their face.

Except it wasn't an AK-47, so you have some dumbass civilian overreacting and not knowing the full situation and cops taking his word as gospel. If this happened at a house and cops bust in you could have anther Detroit situation. Walter Fisher potentially thwarted others vehicles from being broken into/stolen, including the uninformed callers.
Yes, he did but u have to treat the situation seriously.....The facts are that they secured Mr. Fisher without incident......investigated and let him go on his way....Most of us would have called the police in the same manner.
The situation did get handled correctly, but the officers first reaction to go into a situation with his firearm drawn and screaming at people is an indictment about why the situation between the public and the police in general is so bad.
Again, Officers should look to calm situations down and only draw firearms as a last (read: not first) resort. Too many Officers are too ready, willing and able to draw their firearms.

Maybe Fisher wasn't wearing his old jersey.Sorry but I guess we have different definitions of "without incident". Call me extreme but to me forcing a man out of his vehicle and into the ground, shoving a firearm in his face, and telling him that you're going to kill him is definitely an incident.
You do that to somebody, then you better be damn sure it's justified. If you haven't assured it is, then you leave them the hell alone. What's hard to understand about that?

What if it wasn't Walter Fisher and a guy with an AK47 threatening to kill people? You just act like you didn't receive the call?
