To Protect and to Serve II

Amazingly the victim who got his head smashed into the pavement for simply not wearing a mask properly was initially charged with trespassing and resisting arrest; however, those charges have since been dropped.

It is looking more and more like cops are abusing the "trespassing" charge in the same manner that they abuse "resisting arrest".

Yes. That is kinda unfortunate. Lesson learned type of scenario but in these types of cases the property not tied to the drug conspiracy through proof (her mothers ring) would be returned to her after the hearing, sometimes before the administrative hearing. But her anger should’ve been toward the dope dealing boyfriend for putting her in that position. I would’ve stayed away from seizing that kind of thing anyhow I was more interested in the diamond clustered 80k Rolex or the customized necklace that was popular in the day
No property should be taken before there is at least a trial.

The government was able to fund local departments with something other than tax revenues. I assumed you pay taxes
You don't see a potential conflict of interest when cops are able to fund their departments by fleecing the people that they allegedly protect and serve?

LMAO they won't respond without police being there for safety reasons....you really need to get out and SEE how this works in the real world!
Look, every situation is different. Not all of these situations requires a cop to come in and start cracking skulls. There are several other remedies available. A property owner or designee could have weapons and handle the matter themselves. It may actually have to come down to that as we go further along. More self-policing amongst ourselves.

You can only charge someone with trespassing if the person who owns the property wants them to leave and they refuse so how is it abuse?

Yes every situation is different. A simple medical call can quickly become a violent fight. Which is why EMS won’t answer psych or drug calls without police present. If the citizens had the ability to self police, then police wouldn’t be needed. But it’s not that way at all in the real world

Really? What did we do before police?

How far back we going? The bourgeoisie just employed guards and militants to keep order among the proletariats. Since the creation of the U.S. there have always been sheriffs or constable like figures with the power to deputize others to keep the peace. So I’m not really sure what they did before that. I’m fully in support of people handling their own business more often, but it’s not going to happen. Some of the most anti-police people are where I always ended up on calls.

It is happening. These are older numbers but the trend remains.
“More than 1 million private security personnel work directly for U.S. companies (BLS, 2009c). In comparison, as of 2008, more than 883,000 sworn law enforcement officers were employed by federal, state, or local agencies, including municipal police departments, sheriff‘s departments, and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as other investigative and enforcement agencies and bureaus (BLS, 2009b).”

When did America not have police? You mean like in pilgrim times?
They had a set of laws, the mayflower compact. And a sheriff of some sorts. The idea of a sheriff can be traced back to early medieval times in England. Can you imagine a society without any police? Heaven help humanity if these ignorant liberals get their way. If they think it’s bad now, they need to research law enforcement in the old west.

I think it’s plain to see the creeping nature of the state and their laws. Just look at the last 50 years in this country. Police get a bad rap because it’s deserved. They enforce the politicians edicts then cop out by saying “if you don’t like it change the laws” as if the average person has any say in how these megalomaniacs rule over us. We have entirely too many laws on the books and too many overzealous cops willing to enforce them.

I agree about the overzealous cops. That’s part of the problem. Also part of the problem is overworked and understaffed. Cops are like everybody else, they get burned out. You add in the fact that certain groups treat cops as the enemy. You’ve got a recipe for disaster.

Do you ever wonder why you can't make a post that isn't incredibly low IQ? But please let me know why people hate an incredibly diverse and wide ranging group of people. Sounds like prejudice to me.
Please go roam around the community and spew your cop hate and threaten people for driving over the speed limit. You guys have a lot to learn.
