I’m not triggered. They are different from regular constitutional or 2nd amendment types who are fine and usually have good dialogue with law enforcement.

Sovereign citizens file frivolous liens and lawsuits and in most cases are paranoid with extreme mental illness. They are conspiracy theory nuts and usually have no understanding of the law or the Constitution. I will always laugh at the nuts who are like I don’t need a drivers license or think the government tracks DNA with pennies

My gut tells me he thought the kid was carrying something and used a flimsy excuse to pull him over then wanted to get the kid out of the car because he thought he had weed. Really pointless and a waste of time in my opinion

I’ve always said that some police officers are stupid or unethical. Just like some lawyers, doctors, teachers, bankers etc etc. human beings are human beings regardless of the profession. It’s just a small percentage just like with any other group

I’ve said in my previous life of 20+ years of LE I only saw a handful of truly stupid or truly scummy people be officers. The stupid eventually don’t make it. The scummy are almost always dealt with swiftly and harshly.

Out of probably 2k officers I’ve seen or dealt with maybe 10? Idk I’ve never seen someone steal or anything on duty although I did know some ex officers who got fired 20 years prior to me become criminals. I’ve only seen one time an officer (not my dept) abuse a prisoner and he was immediately reported and fired by myself and others.I’ve never witnessed “racial profiling” at least locally.

I think bigger cities with lower standards have more issues with “bad officers” than the Knoxville sized cities do

How on earth does one expect, in this case, the Trooper to know if the drivers of the speeding cars (illegal btw) to know said drivers are law abiding citizens. Troopers are traffic cops, they write tickets and work wrecks...thats about 90-95% of their job description. The 2 troopers in question were on duty, saw an infraction and cited the drivers. They get paid to keep the roads safe. It is not theft, it’s a fine. Much like a late fee on your cable bill.
Now if you wanna talk about masks mandates and things like that, I’ll get on board with ya

This is who worries me: law enforcement who feel they have a religious mandate to use deadly force. To quote Brian Zahnd, "Head full of scripture, heart full of hate."

Yes, I believe Christianity allows us to protect ourselves and our families. Yes, I believe that you are well within your right to use deadly force if you legitimately feel your life is in danger. Yes, you have an absolute right to bear arms. But this man has said he delights in the hunt. And that's not something I've found in the Gospels.

I fully disagree with that statement. Every single one of my ex-coworkers I have spoken to have heavily been against any enforcement of a mandate. Maybe in metro areas you are correct, but I have no insight on that. I worked in a tourist city and a decently large SO.

I think it’s just mega departments in big cities, which tend to be run by liberal voters, council members, mayors, etc. They put pressure on the Chiefs and Sheriffs to enforce dumb stuff. Who then pressure the supervisors, who pressure the young pawns. That develops bad habits early in their career. To answer your question though, almost every single officer I know does not enforce frivolous stuff. Believe it or not, doesn’t matter to me.
