I’ve driven people home before but why would the police drive someone home who’s cursing, being combative and threatening others? All the guy had to do was comply to the bus’ rules

The guy wasn't breaking any laws. So of course he was combative. Also, people respond according to the way they are approached. How did the cops originally approach him? Do you think they were polite and courteous? Or do you think they exhibited command presence and ordered the guy off the bus unapologetically?

You and I know why cops act like they do. The majority of them have a superiority complex and it makes them feel like tough guys to bully people around during a traffic stop. The bottom line is most of them are stupid and they retaliate towards other people because of a badge and not intellect.

Yes he was. The bus asked him to leave and he cussed and threatened and refused to leave. That is against the law. And the officers asked him to leave and he refused. Pretty simple concept.

Yep, I'm sure you observed someone crossing the centerline before you pulled them over. I heard that a couple of times when I got pulled over for no reason.

I’ve never once in my previous 20 plus years of law enforcement pulled someone over for “no reason”. Either they committed an obvious traffic violation or I knew they were involved in some criminal activity. Just because one random officer in some city does something questionable doesn’t mean every officer does it

Sir, the point of this entire thread is that it is far more than one or two random cops sprinkled here and there.

And again I’ve seen hundreds and hundreds of officers in different agencies during my time and 99% were just fine and the 1% is usually weeded out. Law enforcement is no different than any other profession, there are some idiot doctors, lawyers, politicians, bankers, bartenders, teachers, etc

They're much different from doctors and bankers. They have power. They're unionized.

You say 99% and the 1% is weeded out, but how do you explain the world around you with that made up data? There is so much police corruption, waste, ineptitude, etc. I know so many people, including myself, who have been harassed by the police for no good reason. This wouldn't be possible if it were < 1%

This is how fkn stupid the cop is who harassed me...he saw somebody he wanted to pull over and instead of just pulling up behind them and turning the lights on, he tried to pull this weird, completely unnecessary backroad maneuver where he could surprise them from the side and he sped too much, went off the dirt road, rolled, and died. Only cop in my town to ever die "in the line of duty".

Not every officer is unionized and even then, to suggest that doctors or bankers don’t have power over others is ludicrous.
And police corruption is a lot different issue than brutality or “waste” as you mentioned. If you know a lot of people “harassed” by the police unjustly, that usually would say more about who you hang with and where you live. Some people consider it “unfair” and “harassment” to get a speeding ticket or stopped at a DUI checkpoint. And you seem to reference one officer who “harassed” you by trying to pull you over and died trying to pull someone else over? Do you have a little more detail to what he actually did wrong?

To suggest doctors have power anywhere on the level of the guys that can shoot your dog or you and often go without punishment is ludicrous.

You're blaming the victims with no knowledge of any of the incidents. This is exactly why people hate cops. You're automatically taking your corrupt brothers' side as if you've never seen police misconduct. I bet you're a great cop.

Try this one. I'm at my GF's house party in college. Cops show up and tell everybody to leave. The boyfriends are staying to help clean up. One of us specifically gets told to leave. He starts to explain himself politely and without warning an officer slammed him and arrested him, ****ing up his knee. Wanna hear more?
