To Protect and to Serve II

That's exactly what I thought. You know Ras always looking for crap where there is nothing.
LE is still among the most respected professions in the US. Ranking ahead of clergy and lawyers in most polls. Ras is to be taken with a grain or pound of salt.

A Kansas police officer "fabricated" a story that a McDonald's employee wrote an expletive on his coffee cup over the weekend, Herington Police Chief Brian Hornaday said Monday. Hornaday said the officer, who no longer works for the department, had originally claimed he had been given a coffee cup on Saturday that had "f***ing pig" written on it.

"We found that McDonald's and its employees did not have anything whatsoever to do with this incident. This was completely and solely fabricated by a Herington police officer who is no longer employed with our agency," Hornaday said at a press conference.

The officer, who has not been identified, was with the Herington Police Department for only two months, Hornaday said.

Also notice that the guy resigned... not fired. I swear, cops will defend even former cops.

Blood in, blood out.
He would of been fired if he didn't resign. If they fired him he could, if he wanted to, drag it out through I/A investigation and appeals/arbitration. If he resigns, it's immediate and he has no recourse, he's done/toast.

There's no one that could have his back on this one.

Too many times these guys are allowed to resign and move on to the next town where they rinse and repeat thier tomfuqery.

Congrats to the MPD for rounding up and arresting the poor, while keeping souvenirs.

I hope this is a joke. We've seen far worse instances of cops protecting their own than this. You know, where people actually died and stuff.

Perhaps but there you get all manner of explanations; split second decisions/following training/etc. Sometimes those explanations have some merit and sometimes not so much. (case specific of course) In this particular incident there's not a whole hell of lot room for spin.

If the new agency did their due diligence with a background check, he shouldn't be hired anywhere. Imagine the liability he drags along in his baggage.
