To Protect and to Serve II

When did I tell you what to do? All I said skepticism and etiquette can coexist. Raise your kids however you see fit.

You actually condescended "followers" raising "followers". Own that.

My kids all "follow" me, to s degree even now as adults, because they know beyond a shadow of a doubt that I love them and would lay down my life for them. When they couldn't understand my decisions, they obeyed because I had earned that right.

Whoever is spouting off and condescending in here, you may want to pipe down a bit if you haven't invested in lives in the way some of us parents have, and earned the very things you don't understand and haven't earned yet.

Based on your comments in most threads, your parents succeeded in doing so.

Incorrect..... I respect those that warrant respect. I give you props in the football forum.

There are a select few in the PF that I give the business due to having a lack of respect for their BS opinions...... others I may not agree with, but can appreciate their point of view.

Yeah, i condescended because people were going way overboard on 8188. Do you have a problem with what 8188 said? People can raise kids however they want. No need to get so butthurt over my defense of 8188

I have no respect for a lot of Huff's ignorant BS....I guess I'm questioning his authority on the subject ....didn't you say boys should be objectionable or something similar?

I did. They should be. My objection is to the disrespect and personal attacks that seem to be your m.o.

Argument from authority is fallacious. The argument is what it is, regardless of who says it, their experience, or what position they may hold. There are lots of ****ty parents. Their expertience is meaningless.

Didn’t you coach? Don’t you require a bit of respect from players? I mean if you tell the team to do something that you know will be an advantage to the team, and they reply crap on you, and do what they want and lose the game, it’s kinda disrespectful. I think that’s where most are coming from (may be a bad analogy) from an authority view. My kids have always been free to argue their side when they’ve gotten in trouble, and there are times I’ve seen their side and even apologized. However, there are rules that they follow, or there are consequences. They keep their grades up, clean their rooms, or lose a phone/tv (privilege not a right). It’s not about “me being boss” as much as teaching them to be responsible, and when they are, then they’re awarded privileges. Just how I am about it.

* my bad in advance if I’m remembering wrong about you coaching

I do coach. Playing football is voluntary. If they don't wish to do as I ask on the field, they know where the door is.

I get that, but if my son played for you I’d want him to respect that you understand more than him about the game, and to do his best to listen and learn. Jmo, and I’m not gonna personally attack you over a different view. Well, I do remember you saying you didn’t like Taco casa that much, I’ll always hold that against you 😁

Lol place is gross! Microwaved Mexican food

Two nights in a row of bad calls involving absolutely horrible parents.

Regardless of your opinion of how your child should be raised, just be there and don't be a f'ing meth or heroin junkie.

Just be there, keep them fed, don't beat them, show them you actually care about them and their well being and raise them in a manner which will lead to a relatively normal, productive life.
